It's one of those songs that has become cool to hate, yet everyone that was a kid in the 90s can sing every word.

My roommate saw Deep Blue Something in concert back in '96. Came back telling everybody how great they were, and that, "Breakfast at Tiffany's was seriously their worst song because everything else was just so good!" We teased him about it for a long time. I still have never heard a single other DBS song, but I do dig their one hit.

"Save Tonight" by Eagle Eye Cherry is a great 90s pop song.

And I have to mention "Torn" by Natalie Imbruglia, who is just stunningly adorable in this video. Only years later did I learn that the song is actually a cover.

I know nothing else from this band, but I'm not a purveyor of fine 90's music.

Loud Lucy - "Ticking"

I have never heard any of these songs to my knowledge. All three were pretty hard to get through.

I feel like a YouTube reaction video to how terrible these songs are would get lots of clicks.

Gotta go with Chumbawumba.

I consider that the New Radicals coincided with the end of my youth and pretty much the end of any further "90s alternative" as we knew it. When I heard it, I knew the 90s music was over.

So, you've never heard of a band that sparked a music festival that ran for 2 decades?

Clearly a bunch of knowledgeable 90's music pros here.

I mean seriously, if you are going to act snobby and don't know who Material Issue was then you really can't claim to know the 90's music scene.

Similar to the Toadies discussion earlier, if you were from the midwest or watched 120 minutes/listened to alt radio in the 90's those songs were are all hits. Material Issue was a big cult band hence the IPO festival.

Who was that band that played that song about Mickey's hard malt liquor? They came to CS a few times.

Cuz if that band/song you listed counts, they sure as sh-t would, too.

This thread made me think of Kicking Harold and "Kill You" and it turns out they made a video for that song and it's really good.

Great song back in the day. Wiki tells me things I didn't know:

They are still together and actually have 7 studio albums.
The lead singer is now a "man."

Fizzy Fuzzy Big and Buzzy is one of the best albums of the 90s. One of the best road trip albums of all-time. Every song is great. Lead singer has done a lot of solo work too.
Let's go, Brandon!
