Episode was fun, particularly with the Bollywood-style dance at the wedding. The fight scenes were decent, and I like how it was very much her basically panic using her powers (including that being used to find her in the kitchen).

I'm glad we have a bad guy, but I felt the turn from friendly to antagonist was a bit quick. I also expected her to say they were Inhumans...this seems like a great opportunity to reboot them as a thing in the MCU (alongside Black Bolt's appearance in MoM). Maybe it's something where djinn ends up being the same thing, but just called that as something they think of as magical in their culture?

Good episode. I continue to enjoy this more than I expect to.

Loved this week's episode. More than other marvel shows, this one works extremely well week to week.

I could see the villain turn coming a mile away, but that's fine. As always, I'm disappointed that the hero doesn't tell her family what's going on. She's putting them in danger and they should know it. I know kids keep secrets, but they also don't like being blamed for stuff that's not their fault.

This show nails so much about the Indo-Pak-Bangladeshi Muslim American experiences. It's all in the details. The way they have Aamir and Tyesha's mehndi ceremony at home, the way not just relatives but local community from the mosque is invited, the clothes - for once, look like something that I might find in Hillcroft and not some tacky knockoff masquerading as authentic - it's insane and it's still so subtle that it doesn't hit you over the head as trying to pander.

This is a random thought, but there is a little bit of "evil American government profiling us" going on, which I know is probably a thing in real life. However, this show is post-Thanos. One might hope that sort of thing would be ancient history after that kind of catastrophe. IDK

Sadly I saw that it had the lowest 5 day stream numbers of any marvel series
Ratings are lower because its a new hero with zero star power and its going directlly against Obi Wan.
Show is good, fun for whole family, acting is good, critics love it, probably a ton cheaper to produce than the other shows, I bet it sticks around unless the story just tanks as season goes on.

I've enjoyed this series, but we have prioritized finishing Obi Wan over Ms. Marvel so we sometimes have watched it later than a week.

Also, unlike most of the other series, people are also traveling or going out and not watching as much tv.

Replace Thanos with 9-11 and the govt response makes sense to me. Freedom vs security/safety.

Also, a good reminder that the Sokovia accords were signed right before Thanos showed up. The post-Thanos fallout would have only increased the public support for those accords and the trickle down into government oversight

This has been fun to watch, but I have to admit, after last nights episode I think I need to see a family tree. I got confused among the whole sister / grandma / evil chic dynamic. I'm sure if I go back and watch a few key parts, I would get it. But am I the only one slightly confused on who played what part in the history of the bangle?

As a side note, was that the 10 rings shown in temple where they found the bangle?

I paused the screen twice during the temple scene trying to figure out why they were showing the stuff on the hall but couldn't recognize any Easter eggs

I think they earn it, here. There has been enough dialogue from Kamala's mother to understand why she's kept this a secret thus far. Heck, in the last episode someone brought up "Night Light" and her mother said something about how they were bringing disgrace to their mother.

I have to admit I know so little about this event. Doing some very brief reading it looks like a very sad and tragic season. I can't imagine.

I dont know much about it either. Its been interesting to see it as a defining moment in their history and how it has effects on the family.

It has been really cool to see Partition portrayed in this, as well as the Tulsa race massacre in Watchmen. Two things I never knew about beforehand.

Hate that this hasn't gained more traction. It's at the top of my phase 4 marvel content. It is really well done.

Just as an FYI, the actors playing Kamala's great grandparents are super famous in Pakistan. Last week featured a pretty big name Bollywood actor (in the role of Waleed) as well.

Really well-executed episode. Love that this probably taught more Americans about Partition than all HS world history classes ever. (And I used to teach HS world history.)

Luckily, nothing like the horrors of the Partition would occur if the Texas secessionist movement gets their way

Absolutely. I knew it had happened, and that there was strife that came from it, but it was very much at a high level when I learned it. Interesting to see much more of a personal view of it.

I am just shocked there isn't more love and chatter for this series. I would definitely put it in my top 3 of the Marvel Shows at this point, with potential to rise based on how they stick the landing. I think the only thing holding it back is that she seems so far removed from the bigger MCU for the time being, whereas Wandavision (which has probably dropped a peg since the debut of MoM) and Loki seemed to have much bigger ramifications for Phase 4 and the MCU.

Honestly, I expected a full court press on woke-ism with this show, but I went ahead and gave it a chance. While there has been some hints of that stuff, it certainly has been muted and has not ruined the show. I think they've given us a character that is compelling (and the mom-daughter dynamic is curiously similar to what I see between my wife and daughter). This one has been an unexpected surprise for me.

Of the Marvel TV series, I put this one right behind Hawkeye and WandaVision. Ahead of Loki, F&WS, MoonKnight, and What-If.

Just started and caught up in week 5, preparing for the finale, and man that's been way better than watching Moon Knight week to week ever was.

Good show so far. Surprisingly little superheroing going on. I felt it started to meander around episode 3, where you had not one, but three different parental figures sitting down and talking to Kamala about life. I'm not really sure what her internal struggle was at that point, other than telling her parents about her power or not. I guess whether or not to help the aunt? The talks didn't seem particularly relevant to that topic, from memory - and then the aunt bailed her out by going full evil anyway.

Overall, quite enjoyable. I think the superhero/mystery subplot could have been tighter. Like most Disney+ series, at this point, you have some subplots that are entirely irrelevant (Bruno, Nakia running for mosque council), and some subplots/diversions that will probably be irrelevant in the finale (Red Daggers) for the big showdown.

It's kind of like Falcon & Winter Soldier. Zemo and Wakandans were fun, but ultimately not important at all beyond showing up for episodes 3 and 4 for funsies. Like every D+ show so far, will they be able to tie it all together in the final 42 minutes? Probably not, but hey, at least I didn't have to wait week-to-week this time!
