Will try to watch tomorrow. I've preferred this season over season 1 so far, but I've always enjoyed a good road trip movie.

Legit think the dude might just be holed up in a room somewhere with a mound of blow and writing down whatever crazy idea comes to his mind.
It's a cabin, not a room. He holes up and bangs out episodes faster than a Bozeman hoe can tie up a fresh hooker.

"I get paid whether they're good or bad, but that's not really winning," he said. "'I'm one of those people that's incapable doing something that's not tethered to 100 percent of my passion. I cannot do 'OK' at a job."

I guess write what you know, and if digital penetration is your passion…

I read "digital" a dozen times until I realized

Well played

Spoiler alert

IMDB lists an actor named Gerard Sanders who is credited as "Spencer in 1969", 1 episode, A Dream and a Memory". So Spencer obviously survives the land war (to no one's surpise I'm sure).

What was the point of any of it?

I don't know how to hide spoilers so I'll try to be vague here.

Spencer takes two full seasons to get home and then just murders every bad guy possible?

Alex's storyline was emotional there at the end, but I can't really wrap my head around it. She couldn't just wait for a train to Montana and then the car she's hiding out in and about to die in just happens to be by the train tracks??

The son's storyline (Jack/Jake?) he just gets shot in the woods and his preg wife is like ok I'm out. She must have said she wanted to focus on landman so TS just phoned it in on that storyline.

Four cowboys on the roof holding off 40 dudes with guns that drove vehicles.

Don't want to get on here just to piss all over the show but how much time did we waste on the journey to get Alex and Spencer to Montana, which could have been used with them actually there? First season of 1923 I really enjoyed, but this one furthers my belief that TS can start a show with the best of them but doesn't know how to finish them.

Edited to add spoiler hiding.

That was a great finale all things considered.

That makes Tate the 6th generation. He is supposed to be 7th. But Taylor S just kind of makes it up as he goes, so could be accurate

Spencer is shown being born 1886 when his mother was born in 1830. So she was - 56?

And maybe the John Dutton born in the finale was Kevin Costner's grandfather?

Looks like Spencer will still be alive during the next installment of this series - 1944. Hopefully the same actor. I guess the John Dutton that was born should be about 20 years old.

At the end, voice over said "Spencer joined Alex 45 years later". So he was 37 in 1923?

Wouldn't it be his dad? I'm assuming Costner is born in the late 40s or 50s.

And Sheridan can go F himself. Zero reason for either Jack or Alex to die. That's just lazy on his part along with showing Timothy Dalton as a giant perv. We get it, ge likes spanking women.

I thought Costner character was born circa 1960

Overall I enjoyed this. It was my introduction to this world, but I did enjoy it to the point that I want to see more. Does it make sense to go to 1883 next, or just go to Yellowstone?

Back to 1923, I was most focused on the stories of Spencer and Alex, and Jacob and Cara. The Indian gal felt like an out-of-place add-on. The bondage stuff didn't need to be so front-and-center through so much of this just to show how bad Whitfield was.

Agreed. They did some silly and weird stuff in this show, but it all wrapped up well. Good to finally see Spencer kill the bad guys.

He's basically created a Wild West Game of Thrones. Killing Alexandra, the most well liked woman on any of the Yellowstone shows is absolutely garbage. This totally kills any desire of mine to watch any of the future shows.

There is zero reason to have killed her off beyond being edgy just to be edgy.

I would have liked to have seen Whitfield suffer a little more before being sent to Hell.

Disappointing.
Wish he would have gotten back to Montana four episodes earlier. Alex too. It was a mess. On to a new show.

I highly recommend watching 1883 next. It's the best one out of them all, and it will keep you engaged. I think it, combined with having watched 1923 first, will make the extremes to which they go to fight for the ranch more believable.

Thanks. I actually did start 1883 last night. Like 1923, it didn't grab me with the first episode, well not totally, but seems to be of similar quality and I do like the cast in this one as well.

To that end, I would suggest not binge watching Yellowstone.

You'll be asking yourself why they're killing all those effing people in such quick succession.
