Wanted to post this video and wasn't really sure where to, so I figured I'd start a general thread for the awards season.

(Golden Globes kick it off on Tuesday.)

Here's a good roundtable with some of the major actors in contention. (Fraser, Dano, Butler, Sandler)

The only thing I'm really interested in is if Top Gun gets nominated for the best picture Oscar. After the train wreck that was last year's ceremony, it's the perfect opportunity for the academy to show that they're not completely out of touch. So…probably a long shot.

I'm just waiting for Cocaine Bear to win best picture for the 2023 season. But I won't be satisfied unless the bear comes on stage to smack Will Smith in the mouth after snorting a big line off Jada's bald head.

It's a lock for a nomination, and most pundits have it as a serious contender. Right now it feels like Fabelmans and Everything, Everywhere All At Once have the most buzz/momentum, but it does have a shot.

That, plus Avatar, should make for a much more widely watched Oscars.

I don't know if any other monologue would fit after what happened last year. He brought it up, addressed it, took shots at the hollywood press, then started the show. Isn't that what Gervais did (minus the jokes about the celebs in attendance)

Man, this guy's delivery just sucks. That Miscavige joke would've killed if told by Gervais, but this guy makes everything unfunny.

Carmichael was terrible - like, to the point where he should never host another awards show again - but otherwise it was pretty entertaining, with some great winners/speeches.

It's insane to me the disrespect all the awards shows have shown Better Call Saul, collectively. But in particular Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn.

Also even though I was rooting for Brendan Fraser (just cause I've always liked him), really loved seeing Austin Butler win. He absolutely killed it as Elvis and it's well deserved.

Will finally be watching The Whale and The Fabelmans in a double header on Saturday. Looking forward to it.

can't believe it took me this long but didn't realize Ironman took this "greatest creation is you" bit from The Goonies.
