Way better than too many new songs.

Is it though?

I was going off the things they said on the radio.

Calm thyself. It will be ok.

I mean being reallistic, songs like Alexander The Great, Stranger in a Strange Land, and Caught Somewhere in Time are not songs they even play live often. This tour is the debut of Alexander. That's 3 + 5 of a new album, thats half the set with songs that they will likely get rid of the next tour, while songs like Trooper, Fear of the Dark are staples.

Also lacks a few staples like Beast, Hallowed, Hills.

Anybody been to The Post next to 713 Music Hall?

Would that be a decent place to watch the Astros game before the concert tomorrow?

We skipped most of Tool's set on purpose. The band was hidden from view the whole time and no audience interaction except for Maynard telling the audience "you smell delicious" between two songs.

lol.

I'm gonna defer to someone else for comments on this one.
HAHA so a standard Tool concert. You go to watch the video screens and listen to Tool while on your favorite drug. Not watch the guys play instruments. Well, except Danny Carey. He's worth watching the entire time.

I've only seen them once, a couple years ago at Toyota center and they were all plainly visible the entire time.

I imagine in that big of a venue you can't see much other than their visuals. 2000s Tool is a completely different animal than 1990s Tool. Maynard put himself in the back left years ago and the spotlights are usually on the other 3. No more front and center wearing longjohns, bras, or whatever costume suits him that night. In a normal venue (whatever that is these days), you can see them play but their stage/visuals are usually pretty massive for only the 4 of them...and they don't move around the stage with the exception of Justin occasionally.

I don't know, I think Justin can be pretty fun to watch!

especially if you're a musician.. it's enamoring to watch these guy play such seemingly simple stuff, yet much of it is pretty difficult. And so many parts you hear you don't know if it's Justin or Adam until you see it live.

Unfortunately I've never sat close enough to enjoy watching the string work for both Adam and Justin.

It's good time for a tool fan to live in the front range. Last year they did CO springs and denver back to back.
This time around they just played loveland a week ago, now they come back around through denver.
Both of these pairs of shows, the venues are roughly an hour drive apart.

4 times in 25 months.

And I skipped all 3 of the previous ones. Guess I'll go to this one, they've been throwing in some deep cuts lately.

Pretty sure I do but the website is a little sluggish right now. Assuming everyone is either trying to retrieve their code or sign up for TA to get a code...

Prices for Foo have gone nuts today with Floor GA hovering around $1000. Man it is tempting to take that profit.

are they actually selling at that?

listing prices doesn't always equate to sale prices.

Then you got your 20% fees to sell.

I can't transfer my tickets (which is going to be a mess having to meet up with friends tonight) and the only resell option I have is back to ticketmaster for what I paid.

Honestly not sure. I bought on Vivid Seats the day of the general sale. I was emailed the ticket that has the moving line on the bar code.

I don't know about other's experiences, but I was able to get a poster at the Phoenix show during the show. The lines were ridiculous (at all four merch stands) before the band came on, but I had to take a restroom break at one point during the show and there were only about 5 people in line at that point, so I got one then. My copy was the last one at that stand.

They were $50. I don't know how many they make for each show, but I do think they sell out, so if you want one grab it.

The benefit of being tall is that I'm completely over the "be up front" mentality at GA shows. I gave that up a long time ago. Wish I had a reserved seat, but GA will more than do for tonight.
