Really curious who F1 will get for their concerts. Always big artists. I'd love to see Metallica or AC/DC

Secured my Vampire Weekend ticket for June at 713 Music Hall. Very limited number of tickets today but I was able to get a reserved ticket in row 2 of the 200s. They didn't seem to have the floor GA on sale this morning (or at least I didn't have access to them) which is fine. I always prefer to have an assigned spot.

I got Red Rocks row 12, best I could. Failed to get pit for Austin. Trying tomorrow for Austin and Irving

Today was so much better, got Vampire Weekend pit for Austin and Irving. Irving has a $12 fast lane so I added that just to secure barricade but i will still show up at around 3 pm to make sure I get my spot.

$250 for section 202 row 2. Which is a lot more than Floor GA but that is ok. I am not a tall man and didn't want to be staring at the back on someone's head the whole time.

Wow! Concerts are ridiculous these days. It was nowhere near that for reserved at White Oak a few years ago to see them.

Yep, I was shocked at the price but I have been waiting forever to see these guys and they are genuinely one of my favorite bands.

With that said...concert prices in general are out of control and I guess I am part of the problem for continuing to buy at these prices.

They had GA on sale with the code I got sent. It was $97.50 + tax. Since I've already seen them I decided to wait on pulling the trigger. When I saw them at White Oak it was probably half that price.

Part of me wishes I'd waited for the GA that want available yesterday but I know I'll be happier with a reserved seat even if it is more than double the price.

Double the price? The $250 you stated was for 2 tickets right?

For me, 200 reserved shows as $108.50 + tax and GA is $97.50 + tax a piece.

The presale code is GENXCOPS for those interested in the Houston date.

Guess I got took. I bought a "platinum ticket" yesterday (which doesn't seem to come with anything extra). Yesterday tickets in the 300s were like $180.

I am bad at this. Still excited though.

"What is a Platinum-ticket? Platinum tickets gives fans high demand tickets available for specific events. Prices are dynamic, regulating price and demand, which means your ticket has a matching market value. Ticket prices will vary from day to day, depending on the demand."

So basically a platinum ticket is one that Ticketmaster is able to scalp for whatever price it decides it wants to sell them at, on any given day.

Correct.

All the while they are promoting "non-transferable" tickets and "face value marketplaces", because the consumer has been duped into thinking that is a good thing for them.

TM platinum has been around for over a decade now. This isn't new.

Yep. I currently have 4 tickets to the Zach Bryan show in SA I'm trying to unload because I bought tickets to Houston, once he announced that, thinking I could just sell the SA ones back to Ticketmaster for face value. Guess I didn't read right. SO far the best they've offered to buy them back is $280 for the tickets I spend $390. Of course the $280 is AFTER they take their service fees out. So I have to pay service fees to buy them and service fees to return them. TM is the devil for sure.

It would be un-American for a business that controls the supply to not test the limits of what customers will put up with.

Agreed, but it's just extra nefarious to promote a system like you are trying to help the customer "No more scalpers!", when in reality you are simply trying to remove competition in the industry so you can control the entire market.

Baseball is a good example I like to use. If the teams had their way, that Tuesday afternoon game vs Tampa Bay wouldn't have lower level seats available for $10 on Stubhub -- they would be the box office price of $25... But that Friday night Yankees game? It's still going to cost you the arm and a leg it would have on Stubhub, you're just paying for it as a "platinum" or "dynamically priced" ticket.

Scalpers aren't good, but zero competition and complete market control is very, very bad for the consumer.

You hardly played yourself - the entire system is designed to create a sense of urgency so that you don't pay as much attention to the details and/or often decide whatever you have is better than possibly nothing.

I understand that, but I don't think the poster I was responding to understood what a platinum ticket was, so I thought I'd try to help. It appears it was new to him at any rate.

Just saw that they got all their gear back yesterday after someone stole their truck with everything in it.

Yea, it was 100% the FOMO that had me panic buying. That urgency cost me few bucks but at least now I know to keep an eye out for Ticketmaster's "Platinum Tickets" when searching a venue for seats.

No Red Rocks night 2 but Vampire Weekend added a show in Dillon. Says its about a 90 minute drive from Denver. All GA at the amphitheater. Still debating it, just need to find shuttles/buses options from Denver, I really don't want to rent a car.

Any advice or recs on Stones tix at NRG? I'm taking my two boys(18 and 15), mostly to say that we saw them. I'm more of a fan than they are.

I don't know what your budget is but my advice would be to wait until the last minute to purchase and watch prices come down.

I paid $700 each for PIT for their last Dallas show at the Cotton Bowl a couple of years ago the day they went on sale. Then I checked the day of show and they were only $400 each on TM.

Follow this guy's advice, as a rabid concert-goer I've gone this route ever since the first time I got hosed by the same thing. Example, could have gotten floor Eagles tix last week in Houston for wayyyyy cheaper than resale on the afternoon of the show.
