Not sure how valid.. but saw the blurb on some facebook news page (Danny carey is from kansas)

"BREAKING NEWS: Billy Corgan, Tom Morello, and Danny Carey are forming a supergroup for Black Sabbath's final show.
The Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, and Rage Against The Machine members will play together due to their Chicago roots."

he's also a regular in a jazz band that plays at a little LA club called the baked potato.

I like early Smashing Pumpkins, but Billy Corgan singing Black Sabbath just doesn't resonate with me. But maybe I'll change my mind once I hear it.

I like early Smashing Pumpkins, but Billy Corgan singing Black Sabbath just doesn't resonate with me. But maybe I'll change my mind once I hear it.
I didn't assume it was Billy for sure. Tom can sing too.

Guess it doesn't necessarily say they'll be playing Sabbath songs, but I agree that Corgan might not be the best one to sing if they do.

I feel like it's an arms race between Morello and Carey to see who can play in more bands.

It actually seems weird to think they'd open for sabbath and actually play sabbath songs. It's not a tribute show after all, just a sabbath show with a slew of openers.

Yea, I misread it as they were covering Black Sabbath songs. Going to assume that won't be the case since opening for them.
