Snuck one more visit in. Just an unreal experience top to bottom!

Saw this last night. Group still sounds good musically and vocally. Sound system is miles beyond your typical stadium/arena. Great experience.

There he is on the right. The GREAT Chris Holt. God I gotta get out there to see one of these shows ASAP. It's going to cut into my Billy budget for the year though. Decisions decisions to make.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Holt was very good.

Cheaper seats high up are as good or better than anything lower, so you don't have to totally break the bank on tickets. You do still have to get to Vegas though, and you do still have to avoid the rest of the ways they get your money. We had 3 free nights at our hotel, except for the $50+ resort fee. And the $25 bacon-and-egg breakfasts. And the $25 margaritas for my wife. And everything else they've decided people will pay $25 for.

I saw The Eagles at the Sphere last weekend. I'm still thinking about it. The most incredible venue I've ever seen. Had seats in the 201 section and it was simply incredible.

I was in 201 as well when we went a few weeks ago. Was a whole lot closer to the stage than I thought we would be but right up against the wall of the Sphere. The seats were good but if I do go back I think I will try to get something more in the center even if it is higher up.

Heard Mars Volta rolled out an entire un-announced new album at the first stop of the tour last night. Im looking forward to seeing those guys live.

Brand New concerts announced for the first time in over 7 years. No, this is not a drill. I won't be able to go but thought I'd share.

https://brandnew-live.com/

Jesse Lacey has done a few "toe in the water" shows with Brand New, solo, and this past Sunday, with a different lineup called Human Surfers. Then this announcement came out. Two days before ticket sales and a mere 3 weeks before the actual shows. Guaranteed it will sell out in minutes.

Rumors on Reddit of a new album and full tour this year as well. Don't know of many Brand New fans on here but I am obsessed and I can't believe it's real. Never thought this would be even a remote possibility.

Headed to Vegas Friday to see the Eagles at Sphere Saturday.

Any input, tips, tricks on arriving, getting in and out, etc?

I would say give yourself more time than you might normally to get in to the Sphere. Not the quickest entry procedure I've ever been thru, because they're using facial recognition technology. Otherwise, once you're in it's easy to get around.

We walked to the venue from the Flamingo area. About a 15-20 minute walk. When we left we went out the bridge through the Venetian to get back on the Strip.

We've gone to the Sphere twice, once for U2 and once for the Eagles.

The first time, we stayed at the Linq and walked to the Venetian and through it's pedestrian walkway into the Sphere. It was kind of a slow process, hopefully they've improved the flow since then. Once inside it was easy to walk around and get to our seats, merch, drinks, etc.

The second time we stayed elsewhere and drove to the Sphere. Parked in lot HH-1, which is a two-story lot directly next to the Sphere. Couldn't have been an easier 5 minute walk to get to the Sphere entrance doors. Easy walk back and out onto Sands Ave afterwards as well. Buy the parking in advance though, to secure a spot.

Do *NOT* rely on Uber from the Sphere to get home. It's a nightmare. Walk to the nearest hotel to get back.

Also, it starts on time! Don't be last as Hotel California is the first song and it's so cool! Be sure to look up at the ceiling!

Jealous. It was 10/10.

Specifically walk to the Wynn to avoid everybody else walking back into the Venetian. Once you get back going on the pedestrian walkway there is a bridge over to the Wynn to your right. Made it much easier to get a taxi after the show.

The Apocalyptica show absolutely blew me away and was WAY above my expectations.

Don't miss this one. I'm just now realizing they played a 20th anny show of their first 'plays metallica' album twice back in 2017 and 2019, I have no idea how they didn't come up on my radar. I actually picked up that cd back in 1996 when it came out.

Not to humblebrag here but I got invited to a party in Arlington last night scheduled for March 22nd featuring Christopher Holt.

Pretty crazy that he's going from playing all these shows at the Sphere with the Eagles to doing a house party indoors for 35 people. Can't wait.

That's awesome, I'm good friends w/ Mike Richardson (and several of his musical people) up there. Met Chris several times, and seen him play with his Doors tribute, Who tribute, and some others. Also enjoyed his live streams during Covid. Pretty amazing that he's now on stage w/ the Eagles!

I didn't realize Holt was playing with The Eagles, that's crazy. I knew he had a history with Henley, but that's still a big jump.

Big Mike did our wedding reception... My only regret is that I had to spend time socializing instead of listening to him jam

Parking: The closest and largest parking lots are actually the underground garages. Get close to the venue and look for signs that say Theater District Parking. They are located as shown on this link Theater District Parking. I don't know the going rate these days but I would expect it to be $20. One you are parked, just follow signs pointing you to Bayou Music Center/Bayou Place and you will eventually pop up some stairs right in front of the venue. There is free street parking closer to Market Square Park after 6 pm. You can get their earlier and just pay the parking meter with your credit card to get you to 6pm. Or you can park in any number of other parking garages.

Seating: it looks like they will have seats on the floor rather than GA. I imagine most people will stand on the floor. There are elevated seats along the side and back. There really isnt a bad seat unless you are short and in the back and have to look over a tall person or against the wall up front in the elevated section (sections 202/208) and can only see half of the stage.

Best route: Just pop one of the theater district parking entrances into your GPS and pray that 45 or 10 aren't out to get you that day.

RE: standing, surprisingly a lot of people sat a lot of the show.
Clearly some metalheads like myself can't control themselves and stood up and headbanged nearly all of the show... but def a chunk of sitters.

And during a certain song, everyone was thinking the same thing, and everyone sat down.

Denver was pretty undersold.. both L and R sections had huge swaths of empty seats from rows about 8-20.
We were in FF, but we moved up to like M or something. It was nice to have anyone near us. It was folding chairs for first 20 or so rows, then permanent chairs (this show was at 100 year old paramount theater.

Looking at ticket sales for Houston, they havent even opened up the balcony seating for this show. That means the cheapest face value seat is $87.91 after fees. I would expect lots of open seats for this. I saw Apocalyptica roughly 15 years ago for half that price at a sold out House of Blues. Great show then.

In their defense, this is billed a 'plays metallica' show, which inherently should get more attention than an apocalyptica original show.

Also 15 years in concert years is a lot of inflation. Just looking at a few metallica data points, all lower level, close to center section and a row close up front, per show after fees;
2009 - $85 arena
2017 = $180 stadium
2025 = $240 stadium

But.. yeh, you can see the seats available on live nation, and just like denver, L and R sections are largely unsold.

I only paid $150 for the pair in lower level, and rear upper level if I remember were only like $50-$60.

Before the show started I was telling my buddy, I bet James is in the house.. in fact.. what better show than for him to come out and do his spoken word on 'One'!!

Alas, he didn't come out on stage. What a missed opportunity for those of us that share a home state with Papa Het.

two sets.. I wonder if it's a Metallica 'no repeat' style!

They generally play the same set every night, maybe swapping 1 or 2 songs.
Looking back at this.. major backlash from fans circling around.

Was this show actually advertised as no repeat?? Cause I don't remember as such, which doesn't give much room for all this fan backlash.

The flyer just says (said) 'two sets' .. which means they are playing two nights of a 3 night festival.
