I thought this was easily the best episode of the season so far. The action/tension was awesome and, as someone said earlier, the sets/the way they were shot looked absolutely incredible. Very David Fincher-esque, which is an easy way to win me over. I'm also a big sucker for characters finally learning secrets that we, the audience, have known forever, and this episode definitely delivered in that regard. I also loved how Ellie lost Joel but has now gained someone even closer, in the wake of Joel's death. A new, central bond was formed and they now have a future worth fighting for (with the baby). Granted, it'll all probably end in the most gut-wrenching way imaginable, but for now I'm digging what it brings to the show.

I'm 76. The last video games I played were Pac-Man and Xevius. And I'm not interested enough to research this mess since they killed off the only reason I was watching.

It is fairly polarizing.

I'm enjoying it. The production value is off the charts and the story, minor issues granted, is compelling enough for me.

I love listening to companion podcasts during the week leading up to the next episode.

-Oysters, Clams and Cockles - great easy listen with funny hosts and they do a good job"recap" style. Always my first listen to remind me of what happened.
-Official HBO Podcast - obviously the best insight as it comes from the show runners themselves. Really great info
-House of R (The Ringer) - Malorie and Joanna have the best insight and ideas outside of the show runners IMO. They do cackle a lot though and it can get annoying lol. Lots of inside jokes. It's very long and I rarely finish.
-The Watch (The Ringer) - Chris and Ryan. These guys are extremely smart and funny, but sometimes too much and their references go way over my head. They talk about multiple shows each episode so you have to sometimes find the TLOU content within the episode.
-Savage Starlight/Bald Move - Two easy going hosts that played the game. Fun listen if I have the time to get around to it.

I try and listen to as much as I can during my commute but never get around to listening to them all. Try them out!

Awesome, will check that out!

Meant to add on my post that I'm a Non Gamer and all those podcast recs I mentioned are non-spoiler. Some of them have spoiler sections at the end like your rec above but they are very well advertised and there's no way you wouldn't know when to turn it off lol.

That's where I'm at. I know I would love it if I had played the game (based on feedback from people that were fans of the game). But without that sentimental connection too many plot holes and silly circumstances. But the real killer was 'I was bit by a zombie/I'm going to kill you/I'm pregnant/let's bump tacos' in a 5 second span was too much.

Maybe singing, but the guitar looked off from a finger picking perspective. As a guitar player, I didn't buy it, but I could be wrong...... (I didn't say I was a GOOD guitar player....)

This is exactly where the wife and I landed. It reminded me of the Thanksgiving episode from Friends where Monica's mom after getting hit with tons of info exclaims "That was a lot of information to get in 30 seconds...."

Felt very rushed. But hey, it's based on a video game and still entertaining - looking forward to a few more twists and turns. Hopefully that was the set up they needed to slow it down and have a great rest of the season.

When Issac was heating up the skillet and they showed the naked scar my wife said is this porn. I said I had no idea you we were into torture porn but everyone has their kinks. She didn't appreciate the joke. Then later when the girls hooked up I said now this is my kind of porn.
