Monica's "humor" is how smart she is while everyone else looks at her like "huh?" The part where she was leaning to fly to save Kamala was funny in a way, but I can't remember much else.

Carol could potentially have the Thor transformation. I get the feeling her character doesn't know how to be funny or really cheerful even. Part of that could be the Kree memory wipe, part could be her taking the role of serious protector too far. (In reality it is probably just a poorly written character). The emotional journey she was taken on with Monica and Kamala could show her how to loosen up and be a little funnier in future movies.

Edit: oh, and I am similar to your daughter's where I have about 7 marvel movies in my top 3. Lol

And yet the "tweeters" are acting like it's the worst movie ever made, which is going to keep people from seeing it.

Finally saw this with my daughter. She has seen Ms. Marvel and Capt. Marvel multiple times. She came out loving it so they hit their target well.

It was fun. Mid tier MCU, which makes it still pretty good. I thought the first 30 minutes or so were the weakest and it could have done a much better job introducing Kamala and Rambeau. I think the beginning has a flashback inside a flashback which is always a no-no. Once they got together and formed their team it really got going. I think the big bad was a little flat and could have been better cast I really wanted someone in there having fun and chewing scenery, I wonder what a little stunt casting like Sigourney Weaver or Gena Davis would have been like.

Finally saw it tonight on Disney +

Pretty bad. I liked the first movie a lot. This one is on the same level as Thor: Dark World and Black Panther 2, which are both awful.

I love Brie Larson as Captain Marvel. This is just a horrible story.

Finally watched. Not as bad as I thought it'd be but not very good. Id watch this over love and thunder but not over eternals.

So I guess I'm going against the grain here but I watched over the weekend with zero expectations and enjoyed it.

Not a great film by any stretch and we lacked some exposition in places (and I'm very over the multiverse stuff), but it was just generally entertaining and surprisingly fun in spots. Iman Vellani steals the show as Kamala and it was a lot better than I expected based on previous reviews.

Watched it recently and found it to be quite decent. I put it in the strictly middle ground of marvel movies. I have been in a marvel burnout lately and have stayed away from it for a while and maybe that's why I enjoyed it because i've taken a break.

I do think Iman Vellani saved the movie though, as I found her energy to be a big influence to the overall enjoyment of the film.

Agreed. She has a Po(kung fu panda) like quality that I enjoy in a film. But probably best not to overdo it. Couldn't stand monica or carol. Would prefer to watch more of Maria Rambeau.

Saw it this weekend. Wasn't terrible. When did the Kree stop being blue aliens? I was confused why the leader of the Kree was a tan skinned human.
