I was hoping Jelly Rolly would win an award, but that didn't happen. As a 49ers fan, I hope the 49ers beat the Chiefs for a 6th Super Bowl title and stop the Taylor Swift mania. I even know a few people in my church, who believe the 49ers are carrying the fate of the US Presidential Election and the country on their backs.

Shortly after the matchup was announced, social media users started pointing out that the last time the two teams faced off was during a presidential election year. Noting that the last time both the Chiefs and Biden won, Democratic congressional staffer Sam Jeske wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "I guess we're rooting for the Chiefs, folks." Trump supporters, on the other hand, suggested that a win for San Francisco could mean a second Trump term or that both the Super Bowl and the presidential election are rigged. "49ers are going to the Superbowl! 2024 is the redemption year!!" one Trump fan tweeted. "2020 was Kansas City Chiefs vs San Francisco 49ers, the 49ers lost and then Covid happened and President Trump lost his re-election. This is the year we can take it all the way back!! 49ers Win and President Trump wins 2024!"

Others pointed out that the repeat of both contests is merely a coincidence, and some acknowledged that neither the Super Bowl nor the election results have yet to be determined. So, the 2020 winners could still lose, the 2020 losers could still win, or there could be one repeat victory and a new winner in the other.

Regardless of who wins, the Taylor Swift Mania isn't stopping anytime soon. She announced a brand new album tonight when most people assumed she would be announcing the rerelease of her 6th album , Reputation (last one that she didn't own the masters to). That's pretty big news for Swift fans which is around half of all U.S. adults.

I think my favorite part was Jay Z winning a global impact award and then telling the other artists in attendance that many of them didn't deserve to be there because basically they aren't talented.

So very gracious. I'm sure that will endear Jay Z and Beyonc to even more people.

Taylor Swift "mania" is not going away over a football game. She solidified that tonight.

Your freaked out bros at church's paranoia might move on to something else though.

But tonight she decided to make sure the train kept rolling regardless of what happens next week.

(She's a mastermind, she really is, but I'm not sure she could have seen this timeline coming a mile away. It takes time to crank out an album, and the girl's been busy.). If the album is a piece of ****, I guess we'll know she rushed it given all going on. But given all we've seen from her, I'm not inclined to think she thinks it's gonna be a drop-off, announcing it on the night she breaks the Album of the Year record.

In terms of what's rigged and what's not- I did think her album news drop after the first win meant she wasn't getting the big one- that seemed like the biggest mic drop place to drop it. But then you look at it- Album of the Year went so late, she got a couple of hours more of press time dropping it with the early one. I'm unconvinced she would have shown up if she hadn't been told she was getting the big one though.

I admit I just got curious about these political campaign conspiracy ideas. I was telling them how I am excited about the 49ers playing in the Super Bowl, and they were talking about how a Chiefs Super Bowl win would help boost Biden's reelection campaign because of the Taylor Swift factor. Then, I went to a rabbit hole. It just so happens that the last time these two teams faced off in a Super Bowl was in a presidential election year.

I would like for the 49ers to win a 6th Super Bowl to tie the Steelers and Patriots, but I am prepared to handle a Super Bow loss. The Taylor Swift mania will keep rolling regardless of the Super Bowl outcome. Like many in the F16 forum, I would like Trump to win, but I will be prepared for whatever the outcome is.

I was shocked T Swizzy won AOTY. I am a big fan but Midnights is absolutely one of her bottom tier albums. I was rooting for boygenius but also thought Lana Del Rey and SZA had a shot. Did not expect Swift to win.

Jay-Z's speech was weird. Beyonce just isn't my genre but I think of her as more of a singles artist. A lot of great singles doesn't make a great album, so it's easy to see never winning AOTY but winning a lot of Grammys.

I had no idea Mark Ronson was Meryl Streeps son in law. I thought their schtick was funny but what cracked me up was how Ronson explained that Song Of The Year and Record of The Year are completely different awards. Meanwhile every single year it's the exact same songs nominated for both categories.

The number of writers on an album and the number of instruments someone plays has absolutely zero bearing on how good an album is. It's okay to not like an album or to think that the right/wrong choice was made for which one wins an award, but that graphic is just dumb, especially considering how many widely acclaimed albums by beloved artists throughout the decades were created by multiple writers and done with other people playing instruments.

I haven't paid much attention to the Taylor Swift campaign conspiracy other than I read that the Biden campaign was going to actively engage Taylor Swift in their campaign. Which is smart by them because her fans are mindless zombies who will do anything she tells them to do. I would say pissing off Taylor by poking her on politics is a stupid play by Republicans. Very much an own goal.

Regarding Miley, didn't her and dad have a falling out several years ago? Anyway, she is so dirty hot. Damn. I also assumed her get up last night was a salute to Tina Turner. Tina Turner hairdo, Tina turner dress, danced like her in her live performance. She was awesome.

I looked into this recently, and if you go back to 70s or 80s, album of the year winners literally had the band members as song writers and like 1 producer. Sometimes the band was both like Toto.

As you fast forward towards today, that list grows and grows and grows. It absolutely is a sign of less talented artists. They (most) aren't writing or producing (not without 15 others anyway), and they aren't playing, unless it's a band like coldplay, or someone like Beck, who is like a beatle as far as musical instrument talent.

See for yourself.. look at how big the boxes of names are in the last few decades, vs 30-50 years ago.

She's mid 30's and has been around for nearly 20 years as an artist. Most of her fans are 20s and up at this point. My SIL is one of the big hardcore Swiftie people. She has gone to Taylor Swift conventions that feature, not Taylor Swift, but people who podcast about Taylor Swift. Its an incredibly strange dynamic that that fan base has and they are definitely widespread.
