If Jason Statham gets cast as a team principal in the sequel, my wife will definitely want to watch that.Cinco Ranch Aggie said:The only actor I've ever heard her swooning over is Chris Hemsworth.TX_AG_10 said:

Good movie. Race scenes were really intense and entertaining but did require some suspended disbelief RE: the actual sport.
To me it was basically Top Gun: Maverick with F1 cars instead of jets. Which is a big compliment
I remembered that race as soon as it appeared in the movie with Donnelly's Lotus next to Senna's McLaren. I stopped following F1 after Senna's death and Nigel Mansell's move to Indy. I realized while watching the movie tonight just how much I've missed F1.gggmann said:

What a fun movie. I don't think I even realized how long it was. Was the "racing" not actually what happens? Sure. Was there some eyeballing moments for F1 fans? You bet. However, not once was I bored or thinking of anything else. It was a great movie. I enjoyed the 24 hours of Daytona part as well.
Totally agree. The things I most appreciated about the plot was the emphasis on teamwork and the focus on just scoring constructor points. There was no way that a geriatric Hayes was going to come into modern F1 with a last place team mid-season and suddenly start winning races. Thankfully the script made a riveting, unpredictable story out of trying to finish races, not win them. What a refreshing change of pace from the typical racing movie plot! I was hooked.sburg2007 said:

I've been a huge F-1 fan for a long time, and yes it was about as realistic as space jam, but who cares? If you want realism play F1 25 on PlayStation. This movie is great for the sport, I just hope the fans stick around after they realize that cars don't actually bump each other purposefully or shed millions of dollars of equipment on the track, and that split second finishes almost never happen.

The funny thing about that, listening to interviews with the cast, they make it sound like they took pain-staking measures, to insure it's 100% accurate.
Brad Pitt was talking about Lewis as a consultant. He told a story that they were editing the film, and Lewis would hear the gear they were in, and would say...'no, at that track, you'd be in 3rd gear, not 2nd around that corner', so they'd change it. All because they had to make sure every single aspect was real.
I dont think the fans care, and will enjoy it anyway, but maybe dont make all those claims if we need to overlook some things

Yeah Lewis, instead of worrying about the sound maybe let them know that a driver who instigates three safety cars that somehow lets his teammate move up 12 spots might get a little bit of a hand slap.

I'm sure Yuki is down to take one for the team - its not like he's gonna finish anywhere except the back of the pack anyway.schmendeler said:Quo Vadis? said:AgGrad99 said:Quo Vadis? said:sburg2007 said:

Saw it yesterday and really liked it! Did not like the a movie time of 1230, and a start time of 1pm (after commercials and previews).
Worth noting for this film in particular, IMAX screenings often (always?) start right on time.Sapper Redux said:Latrobe said:

I now take the listed movie time as the time I should leave my house. By the time I get in, get snacks, and get to my reserved seat there's still 1 or 2 previews and I miss none of the movie.
