I'm not sure. From my perspective, Ser Arlan is meant to be an enigma. Even Dunk didn't really understand him.

I feel like Ser Arlen might not be as noble or accomplished as Dunk makes him out to be, at least not in his later years (we know he was at least legit enough to go a couple rounds with Baelor at one point).
He may also not quite have had all his faculties in the end and I wonder if Dunk was taking care of him more than the other way around.

It appeared a few episodes ago he died unexpectedly. Maybe he had intentions to knight him, but that blood infection got the best of him.

Yeah, 34 and 31 minutes for the past two episodes.
I don't have the discipline, but honestly, waiting until the season is over and binging would have been the best way to watch this IMO
Really enjoying this show. The back and forth between Egg and Dunk is great. Looking forward to hopefully seeing Dunk compete in the games. However in the back of my mind is this.

IMDB still shows it as Feb 8th but glad to hear we get it a few days early. As another noted, this show would be better to binge watch rather than wait a week between episodes.
I think HBO just wants to milk it because with the short length you could binge watch it in a little less than 3 hours (basically a feature length movie).
Yeah, IMO this should've either been a movie or 4 hour long episodes.

The only positive is it allows some discussion between episodes but with the short length it's just not as satisfying but hey, I'm just glad they nailed the casting of the two leads and are lifting dialogue straight from Martin.
If the next episode ends where I think, that extended waiting gap until the next episode is going to be excruciating

Honestly I think I like the format because it encourages discussions and causes me to remember/think of things that I probably wouldn't otherwise.

Don't mind it as much as some, and if it allows them to come out with new seasons each year like they are saying then I'm all for it. When they wait 2+ years, its frustrating because I always forget what is going on and have to spend time rewatching or reading recaps. Like HOTD, I watched that all the way and loved it, but I'm having a hard time remembering where it left off and what the plot is right now......but I am getting old.....

Yeah. I binged a couple shows back in the Covid days and found I didn't retain as much or pay as much attention. Especially when is fall asleep and have to figure out which episode I conked out on.

I was pumped to get this week's episode early, but now I'm pissed I have to wait 10 days for next week's episode! Can't wait. That ending was beautifully done.
It was perfectly paced and the interactions had power and meaning. They crammed so much detail into each scene.

The 3rd episode was really good but I couldn't figure out what everyone was freaking out about.
So I pulled up HBO this morning and I didn't realize they had released it early. What a nice surprise.

I'll admit, I didn't read the Hedge Knight stories so didn't expect much from this show. But after watching, it makes me feel how I did watching early seasons of GoT. When GoT lore is done right, it's some of the best things put on TV.
Lord this episode was good. The best thing on TV right now IMO. Great characters, awesome story. Comedy mixed in just the right amount.
