Also, I read my first asoiaf book in 2011/2012 so I wouldn't rely on anything I remember or post about what's canon and what's not. I'm pretty much the old nan of this thread. This actually makes me think that GRRM has finished the books (all of them) and doesn't want to publish them until he dies (or at least expects to finish them before he dies). I had previously thought he would never finish them but maybe he will or has, and has told the showrunner the endings.
