Reagan famously said term limits weren't needed for congress, but for congressional staff. The Hill:

Trump on Monday repeated his criticisms of MacDonough as someone who was elevated to her position by then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) in 2012 when Barack Obama was president.

He also bashed former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) for leaving MacDonough in place after Republicans captured the Senate majority in the 2014 election.

"She was put there by then Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and Barack Hussein Obama, need I say more? She is a nasty holdover from Mitch McConnell (A man who has proven to be very disloyal to John Thune!)" Trump posted on Monday.

Thune is just the federal incarnation of Phelan/Burrows. He keeps the "bipartisan" traditions in place because he wants to. Not because of collegiality or fairness (because democrats care nothing about either of those), but because those traditions provide a firewall he can hide behind rather than enacting the president's agenda.

Where are all of the Trump judges? Oh, right. Can't confirm any of them. Republicans have accomplished almost nothing in two years, despite a strong mandate when Trump was elected. Because they haven't wanted to pass conservative legislation.

With "she/her" pronouns in her bio, William has issued tweets that appear to criticize the Trump administration's immigration policies and a 2023 Supreme Court decision about the Environmental Protection Agency's regulatory power; espousing "delight" for a show about drag queens; congratulating Pete Buttigieg and his male partner on acquiring a pair of motherless children; wishingKamala Harris a happy birthday; and quoting from a "fascinating" Washington Post article about lawn management and climate change that said, "A lawn is just a garden under totalitarian rule."

It would be nice to believe it but I really think it's all made up.

He wrote that yesterday talking about events to happen today. The intelligence community isn't just going to hand anything they want hidden over to him on day 1. The Nato force reductions (about a third of what we keep in Europe) have all been announced but nothing specific to July 4th, a federal holiday no less.

Anyway, the UK is a police state and Pulte needs to advocate terminating all 5-eyes intelligence sharing.

Pulte begins mass-firings?

What does all this mean? It means Pulte is still on the job and essentially able to go wild, since, as Acting Director, he does not need to face lawmakers at potentially testy confirmation hearings. Democrats being 'big mad' is a nice way to sign off for the evening.
