There should be WAY more to it than a simple resignation.

It's like cutting out a cancerous tumor from the liver or something and throwing it back in somewhere else before stitches.

Sorry SOBs.
Agreed. I'm getting a little worn out by Bondi/Patel. What happened to the "on day one I'm going to..." I hope I'm just impatient and they're building their cases, but I want to see some a-holes going to prison, or at least being charged!

and again this morning which tanked the markets or at least that is what CNBC is claiming

why is Trump saying this at all?!

everyone knows Jerome Powell wants to harm the Trump Administration

so how does stirring up useless vitriol which tanks the markets and yet will only make Powell NOT lower rates- how is this good strategy?

Did you hear what Kash Patel said about the federal reserve recently? I think there is something bigger at play here..

I recall attending a meeting where a democrat state pol pitched this to our investment bank as a "can't miss project", seeking our funding. I have never liked these types of solar deals and the risk officer hated it, so fortunately our group was a hard pass.

Here's hoping there will be an honest intensive investigation into where every penny of that tax money ended up.

Yes.

Ahem, if only Dan Bongino might have a memory going back…to last year. But I know, we will never get a major Rico case against these sorts of slimeballs…thx for nothing Bondi.

LMCane
How long do you want to ignore this user?
correct- that is my point.

something else has to be happening here

because Trump and Bessent have to know that publicly calling out Powell WILL NOT LOWER RATES and will only cause the markets to tank more

so that is why I am asking: what else could really be going on here?

The easy answer is Trump is mad at Powell and wants to fire him this summer. Trump has a temper, as we all know.

I have never thought much about Rubio, and I never saw him as POTUS material. What he seems to be doing at State though is very impressive, and I would say Rubio has been the most impressive Cabinet member so far.

That's outstanding to read. Hotair piece:
Quote:

The attached statement doesn't describe the sweeping nature of the reforms Rubio plans to implement. Fortunately, the New York Times has entered freak-out mode over the executive order issued by Donald Trump outlining its scope and scale. It takes a while for the NYT to get specific, however:
Quote:

Major structural changes to the State Department would be accompanied by efforts to lay off both career diplomats, known as foreign service officers, and civil service employees, who usually work in the department's headquarters in Washington, said current and former U.S. officials familiar with the plans. The department would begin putting large numbers of workers on paid leave and sending out notices of termination, they said.
The draft executive order calls for ending the foreign service exam for aspiring diplomats, and it lays out new hiring criteria that includes "alignment with the president's foreign policy vision."
And ... so? The State Department had plenty of resources that weren't at all oriented to diplomacy, such as the "Global Engagement Center," which the previous administration converted to a domestic censorship operation. When discovered and challenged, the bureaucrats at Foggy Bottom attempted to hide that function by renaming the effort "The Counter Foreign Information Manipulation & Interference Hub" and dispersing its staff across State's other bureaus. Rubio made clear last week that he would put an end to that kind of bureaucratic insurrection, and the best way to do that is to eliminate the bureaucrats with too much time on their hands.

In other words, the Trump administration won't abandon diplomacy. They just plan to apply resources to their priority issues while vastly reducing the aount of bureaucrats who either don't or won't fit that agenda.

After watching the State Department tip over into Big Brother over the last few years, that is a good outcome regardless of priority reassignments. The GEC/R-FIMI sequence demonstrates just how dangerous an unaccountable bureaucratic state is to a constitutional republic. The ever-expanding bureaucracy will seek power for its own ends and use it to secure their power for as long as possible, even if it means violating constitutional protections that go to the core of this country and democracy itself. In fact, it's the anti-democracy -- an institution that shields itself from accountability in order to execute its own preferred policies rather than those of the elected officials chosen by the people in both the executive and legislative branches.

50% reduction in budget and 70% in staffing is simply excellent news. I, for one, don't think they will get there, but I love the goals.

I supported Rubio financially and volunteering in the 2016 primaries

he is a huge asset to the GOP

no one can explain conservative policies better than Rubio and DeSantis

and Rubio is more "personable"

I hope he is POTUS in the future.

This might be a good topic to start a new thread on. To me, as long as these four are the voices of the Republican party moving forward, we will be golden.

DeSantis
Rubio
Vance
Steven Miller

And I am pretty sure I could be convinced to give Sarah Huckabee Sanders a leadership role as well.

WTF is this 'listening tour' Bongino is now claiming to be going on, to various field offices of the lovely FBI?

Quote:

-Thank you for following this account. I'm traveling this week to some of your FBI field offices to gather information on necessary reforms, and to hear from the workforce. The Director and I have prioritized reforms while also making sure the work being done to ensure the safety of the Homeland, continues.

-I posted this last week but I want to reiterate it. The Director and I are working on a number of significant initiatives to ensure that the mistakes of the past are never repeated, and that many of your open questions are answered. We fully understand that some of the actions and initiatives we've taken may not immediately appear to fit into the puzzle. And that leaves a vacuum at times, filled by others. But accountability requires information, and people WITH information. I'll say again, I'm NOT asking you to "trust me," because I'm not in the "trust me" business. I'm in the "show me results" business.

-Actions that aren't immediately visible do not equate to inaction. And I'll be candid here, it's tough not being able to respond to critical or laudatory comments. But, that's what I signed up for as an employee of the tax payer. I need to let the results speak for themselves on many of these matters because that's what you're paying me to do. I know you've been let down in the past. You're owed better. And we're going to produce it.
Show us some damn thing, Dan/Kash. Just one arrest would be effing nice. And no, suspensions don't count (Kash retweeted this):

I'm liking this arresting of judges breaking the law.
1. No one is above the law.
2. It puts notice on all those who would disrupt and delay this Administration's mandate that they are on watch. Don't try to stop the President illegally.

It's not her job to provide "solutions" for social problems. The courts are to determine the application of laws to a case. Providing solutions is the job of the legislature in crafting laws or the executive in crafting policy. She needs to stay in her lane. That should be easy to do behind bars.

BREAKING: "Bloodbath" at DOJ Civil Rights Division as Harmeet Dhillon cleans house NBC News

-Career officials are melting down.

The Trump administration has forced out a majority of career managers and implemented new priorities.

-More than a dozen senior lawyers have been reassigned.

-Some have resigned in frustration after being moved to "less desirable roles unrelated to their expertise."

-The division is now charged with pursuing priorities laid out in a series of Trump's executive orders, including "Keeping Men out of Women's Sports" and "Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schooling."

-"These documents appear to have been created in a vacuum completely divorced from reality," a former official whined. "This is a 180 shift from the division's traditional mission."

-Many section chiefs have been transferred to roles unrelated to their legal backgrounds, including in the complaint adjudication office and the office that handles public records requests.

-"I was there almost 18 years, and what's happening now is basically the opposite of what we've been doing," whined one veteran lawyer who recently left the department.

-"They are withdrawing everything we've done and taking the opposite side on voting rights, for example," whined a recently departed Civil Division lawyer.

-Dhillon's memo outlines new priorities, including "Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism," "Restoring Merit Based Opportunity" and "Designating English as the Official Language of the United States."

-The "Eradicating Anti-Christian Bias" task force will be a focus. "The Biden administration engaged in an egregious pattern of targeting peaceful Christians while ignoring violent, anti-Christian offenses," Pam Bondi said at a meeting of the new task force.
"We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution."
