So maybe this is a dumb question but …

Where can I read said files?

Within 45 days of the date of this order, the Director of National Intelligence and the Attorney General shall, in coordination with the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs and the Counsel to the President, review records related to the assassinations of Senator Robert F. Kennedy and the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and present a plan to the President for the full and complete release of these records.

Very interesting, since the M-16 didn't go into service until 1964...
The secret service was using Colt AR15s in 1963.
Neither I nor the poster I responded to referred to AR15s.

My guess is that whatever material that was still classified was due to information deemed sensitive due to being related to presidential security details, communications equipment, etc. As with everything related to this, the length of time passed is so great that any tech stuff is long since obsolete.

For $1,000 I'm pretty sure we (F16) can read the files and identify the culprit.

There needs to be a push to limit what can be classified. The system is being and has been abused as a tool to obfuscate, avoid oversight and review.

Tools abused by bureaucracies should be taken away

I think the 45 days is to put some distance between MLK Day and the release of the MLK files. As other posters have pointed out, I do not think the file on MLK will be very flattering. There was a History Channel show I saw on the 60's or assassinations that described a lot of stuff Hoover had on MLK and it was less than kind. By withholding MLK and releasing the JFK and RFK files, Trump would be giving ammunition to the media and libs to rally against him because he did not release the file on a prominent African American. If he released it today (at least if my theory is correct) the media would use it to incite racial problems by doing it so close to MLK Day. Of course now they will come up with something to blame him about releasing the files so close to St. Patrick's Day since Kennedy was a Catholic.

Aaaaand now you're being pedantic. It's entirely possible to confuse the two very similar rifles and still be plausible or even correct in the theory. Besides, tell me from this picture which of the two the agent is carrying.

I'm not the one who said it was an M-16.

I heard the caller on the James Show today, also. He did say M-16, but I believe he was speaking from memory about what he read in one of the many books on the subject. I wouldn't take his saying M-16 as the accounts in the book having said it.

He might have said that, but the theory is around an AR-15 and apparently that was definitely present. Anyway the book people here are trying to remember is this one. Rather fascinating and back in '91 I believed it more plausible than do now (mostly for Outdoor board reasons against it) but its a very interesting read and the stuff of a novel if true.

Assuming, arguendo, there were no conspiracies by Federal employees, or involvement of other entities in the JFK assassination (and/or the RFK/MLK assassinations), there were extensive investigations with interviews of:
  • numerous friends and associates of JFK (and/or RFK/MLK);
  • law enforcement and protection personnel;
  • people who were present at the assassination(s); and,
  • people who were associated with the assassin(s).
Buried in the interview files on these people may be a great deal of embarrassing political and/or personal shenanigans and skulduggery (unrelated to the assassination) identified by the interviewers.

Additionally, we may learn from, reading these files, of embarrassing political and/or personal shenanigans and skulduggery involving JFK (and/or RFK/MLK).

I think those hero worshipping JFK, RFK, and MLK are in for a rough ride, if all the files are released unredacted.

I do not think people will like the MLK tapes. I have heard that they are not family friendly.
That's because he was a man ***** that loved white women...and he was a reverend.

That'll be the takeaway for the bigots and those that hate MLK. But the actual relevant takeaway should be "**** the police state for turning their ire toward a private citizen and trying to destroy his life for political purposes".

The issue isn't what's on the tapes, it's that the tapes exist in the first place and were used to try to harm and blackmail a US citizen.

This is the theory in the book Mortal Error. They paid out a big sum to George Hickey when he filed a suit against him.

This has been completely debunked many, many times and it is a ridiculous theory to begin with.

The car behind Kennedy was full of both Secret Service Agents AND Kennedy's closest friends.

And here they are AFTER the shots when they are heading to Parkland. Are you going to tell me that he fired his AR15 right next to the ears of everyone in that car and not a single one reacts and the other Secret Service Agents don't try to disarm him? Give me a break.

Also think about the ballistic trajectory. They were going downhill when the shots were fired. So to shoot over the windshield of the follow car and then down hill to hit Kennedy in the head when he would have had to get WAY high up on the back of the car to make that shot angle work.

ODonnell and Powers were super close to JFK and RFK. They aren't going to let someone kill their friend with a shot from the seat behind them and never say a word to anyone.

If our CIA actually assassinated the likes of JFK or MLK or had any knowledge or involvement whatsoever, that sh** had to have been shredded decades ago, right?

It does make you wonder why it is all still too secret to this day. If there is nothing to hide, what gives?

Not necessarily. There's a lot of stuff still out there even though too many make the fallacy arguments similar to yours.

Dino Brugioni, for example, who made briefing boards for the ACTUAL Z-film of the JFK assassination (not the ones that were released), saw those boards years later and told the then head of his department about them. The "too many people were involved in a conspiracy for it to have worked..." crowd would have assumed, like you did, that these boards would have been shredded, but they weren't. There's more evidence out there. Plus, there's evidence in plain site that a lot of people don't know about.

Here's the interview with Brugioni:

Warren Commission apologists can't claim he isn't credible. They (the Commission) also don't mention him in their investigation or report.

The Venn diagram of "people who believe everyone in government is a window licking moron" and "people who ascribe elaborate, sensational and incredibly meticulous conspiracies to the government" is just two identical overlapping circles. And they never spend even one single second pondering the contradiction.

One, the ballistics don't work. Like at all.

Two, the car contained close Kennedy family friends. These guys just let it happen AND kept their mouths shut?!

Honestly I cannot fathom incriminating docs exist that are only hidden behind classification if they implicate cia, fbi, lbj, bush, etc.

Those things would have been lifted and destroyed decades ago.

This would be my same thought, any incriminating documents, if they did exist, were purged years ago, no way those kinds of documents would have made it into any archives? I seriously doubt anything like that exist
