As irresponsible as the racism called DEI? No.

Till the left abandons that silly effort, you're just going to have to sit there and take it every time something like this happens.

Ever hear of hydraulically boosted controls?

Superior? Not equal?

Guilty until proven innocent?
It's a lot more than hydraulically boosted controls. One of my best friends is a helicopter pilot. Dude looks like he could be a SEAL. Even he comes home exhausted from the physical and mental strain of flying. Helicopters are not airplanes either, they are far more complicated and require far more physical strength and coordination to control.

As for the policies they chose to make it so that people of different sexes and races get advantages. Burden of proof is thus on people of those sexes and races who are in those roles to show they were hired based on merit. Can't have it both ways
My dad was a helicopter pilot for more than 30 years. He was a high school athlete and had great hand-eye coordination, but for most of his career didn't do much more than jog in the evenings to work out. His last 10 or so years was demanding flying with the Department of Energy, so it isn't like he was coasting.

Also, in the early '90s, I got the opportunity to ride in a Navy T-2 Buckeye out of NAS Kingsville. The female pilot, who was a Navy instructor pilot, didn't have any trouble flying that jet. If you want to talk about the physical difficulties of pulling G's or stuff like that, maybe so. But most aviation isn't so demanding that a woman can't do it.
I never said a woman couldn't do it, I said that the standards should be the same. As long as the standards are NOT the same and we are encouraging more hiring of women or other categories that is the problem. We don't know if this is a total badass 1% female that can do everything a man can do (or at least the average male helicopter pilot) then I am going to assume not until shown otherwise. I've played nice on this and tried to assume the best for decades but not any more. Sorry but there is just no reason we need to lower standards for pilots or ATC's because of sex or race or anything else. I can see with both of my boys how they have fewer opportunities because of those policies. The rot is very, very deep.

I do feel a degree of sympathy for women or anyone else that is just as qualified as those who don't get an advantage being treated as if they are in question but once again I didn't make those rules. You cannot have it both ways and I am tired of worrying about hurting someone's feelings. Spare me the "I know this woman who is every bit as good as a man" so we should thus justify all of the DEI insanity because it might hurt her feelings. If she is that good she should actually be excited about proving just how good she is and competing with men. If not it only proves the point I am making.

Once again, DEI is a cancer, not least for encouraging your attitude which paints anyone not a white male as unfairly in their position.

Your attitude is not the opposite of DEI. It is a mirror image.

It's just as dumb as the attitude that white males are inherently evil.

This person wasn't in charge of US Health Policy. The ASSISTANT Secretary of Health obviously provides input and support but the person in charge of US Health Policy under Biden was Xavier Becerra who was a Stanford Law graduate and former AG of California. Hope that helps!

I have no idea why Trump would immediately bring up diversity as a culprit. There were staff shortages before he became president. Maybe it was a deflection from his offer to buy everyone out the day before. I know that would be a distraction at my place of work, especially if we were already understaffed.

But, being understaffed is nothing new. In 1981 when Reagan broke the union, he fired 11,000 ATC. They definitely had to make some diversity hires. They got some replacements from the military, and were apparently training new people like crazy. Even if the new hires were qualified, I know that high turnover on safety-related jobs causes lots of problems.

Reagan smashed that union pretty hard by showing that the skies could still function in their absence. I imagine that one accident around then could have changed the history of labor in this country - kind of like 3 Mile Island and nuclear power.

I mean he didn't say much and they were ready to pounce anyway. They already pounced before that with the blame.

We didn't elect a bumbling idiot who needs a nap and amphetamines with a written speech before being in public.

I'll let this age and see how it goes but I'm guessing this is quite of a big nothing burger, yet again, against Trump

Well, I have an idea, but it ranks right up there with grandstanding on gun safety while parents are still picking up body parts after a school shooting. There are no rules or sense of decorum when it comes to galvanizing a ravenous base.
