No, "we" are not guessing. Someone with a relatively direct link to a Democratic lawmaker who was threatened by the guy who actually did this posted that information. Several of "us" stamped "our" feet, called the poster a liar and said that couldn't be true because only libs do bad things because libs are bad!!!

First of all, what "GOP state senator" are you referring to, and second, how do you know the Gov. appointed him?
Her. Carla Nelson, and he probably didn't have any role in her appointment. Or the appointments of most of these people. As noted above, many of you people are making this out to be way more important than it actually is.

Where is your source for that appointment? You sure she wasn't appointed in the other ways I referenced? She also served on that board from 2011-2016 when Walz wasn't gov. (From her bio).

As far as the bolded part, maybe. But you're flat out making things up to fit a specific narrative. Or, at the very least, talking about things you know little to nothing about and haven't really looked into it other than briefly -- after throwing a bomb. The fact is WE DON'T KNOW how that guy got an appointment. But he damn sure didn't get it through the state legislature, which was LIKELY the way Nelson got her's.

I don't know how any individual on this board got appointed to it and didn't say that I did. Other than Ted Mondale and the President of the University of Minnesota, most of them are nobodies as far as state politics or business goes.

The only thing I know about the shooter's appointment to the board is that he was appointed to it originally by former governor Mark Dayton, and then re-appointed by Walz. Given Dayton's history (drinking problem, severe pain from multiple back surgeries) I would be quite surprised if he was functioning at a level to even think about appointments like this, or knew this dude from Adam. Walz re-appointed him. That likely amounted to nothing more than Asok the Intern calling the guy and asking if he wanted to keep serving. In and of itself, it is evidence of nothing at all.

What I am certain of is that the claim that "Walz would only appoint Democrats!!!" to a useless community board is nonsense.

From liberal rag Wall Street Journal

Quote:

Carlson said Boelter voted for President Trump and was against abortion, considering it murder. But Carlson never thought his views were especially out of the mainstream.

Trying to identify Boelter's political leanings is challenging, based on available public records. People don't declare a party when they register to vote in Minnesota.

Authorities said they found a list in the suspect's vehicle that included other public officials. The suspect's possible target list named prominent abortion-rights supporters in Minnesota, including Democratic lawmakers who have been outspoken on the issue, according to an official familiar with the document.

Carlson is his roommate, btw.

It is possible this guy, like a lot of people, doesn't fall into lockstep agreement with either party.

Another thing that few of you know, because you're not from here and don't know anything about Minnesota politics, is that pre-COVID/George Floyd Tim Walz's reputation among hard core Minnesota leftists in the Twin Cities was that of a DINO squish. The local socialists were disgusted by his primary victory in the governor's race he eventually won.

"Working across the aisle/centrist/getting things done bipartisanship" was entirely on brand for Walz in his first couple of years in office. Again, I doubt that this actually had anything to do with the shooter getting re-appointed to a board because I doubt Walz ever knew who he was, but rabid partisan purity tests were not his playbook in 2019.

LoL, ok doc lemme explain it to you...

anything a lefty says in the context of furthering their ideology, politics, or the cult/bubble they live in, should be considered a lie until proven otherwise. And not proven by other liberals like you and the Star Trib. We have ample evidence over the last 20 years that supports that premise! The guiding principle of leftism is: let's do evil so that good might result. The end justifies the means. I honestly believe liberalism is a mental illness. I believe liberals are born that way.

However, if you, being a lefty, told me you like Coca Cola, I would believe you.

Hope that helps .

This is such a stupid game we play every time one of these things happens. Anyone who goes out and murders politicians/CEOs/public figures should be tried, convicted and summarily executed. Which "side" they are on or why they did what they did is irrelevant. Our society is predicated on at least a basic level of human civility and law/order. It ceases to function if we all have to constantly fear someone walking up and shooting us in the back of the head on a random Tuesday morning.

I don't care who this guy is, what party he affiliates with or why he chose to do this. He's the type of person that a civilized society must dismiss from this mortal plane with the swiftness.

Truthfully, slough works as well:

Slough (noun)
1). A swamp
2). A situation characterized by lack of progress or activities

When you define liberal as anyone that points out the idiocy of Trump then sure it's liberal. It's also very conservative by that same standard given its coverage Obama and Biden. I know this is something that blows MAGA's mind but it is actually possible to be conservative and not think Trump is good for this coverage. By all accounts the WSJ is right leaning. Not overly so but it definitely leans a bit to the right. It's pretty fair overall though.
