I will agree that the management of the messaging in all this has been utterly abysmal.

I agree it's a pretty big fumble by Trump and friends.

I just don't think there is the there there that people think or want to be there.

Is the downplay part of a conspiracy? Dunno.

But is this giving the non standard media to drive traffic? For sure.

The alt media lives the greenbacks as much as the legacy media does.

Every single surrogate of his (including his family) pumped it at his rallies and he referenced it on multiple podcasts that he'd be willing to release it. He leaned heavily into it because it was MAGA red meat to the core.

This is just one of many conspiracies that have taken on a life of their own due to social media and podcasters. The difference in the last few years is you now have politicians grabbing on to them because their voters like to believe them. Trump has certainly been a participant as have many others from both sides.

Edit to add: another factor is the old news media no longer investigates anything, but rely on the same social media and podcasters they complain about.

It's a complete disaster how Trump and team are handling this. AT BEST, they used this disgusting sex scandal to hype up and energize their base (including me). At worst, Elon wasn't making his allegations up.

So another one who cares more about shaming people than about getting convictions.

Because the best way to guarantee you will not get a conviction, is by flooding the internet with unverifiable accusations before any charges are filed.

If there is verifiable evidence of crimes by living people, then file charges and put them away. If it's all guilt by association and lets destroy some people because their names were in Epstein's contact list, then it's probably not worth the defamation lawsuits.
