I think they're Jumping the gun a little on calling them a Terrorist Organization because there are no Terrorist laws that cover Domestic Organizations. If they can prove they are funded by Foreign entities, then it might be game on. Maybe then they can label them a Foreign Terrorist Organization and that gives them a lot of tools they wouldn't have otherwise to go after them...Like freezing assets of those foreigners funding them.

I'm sure it will be fought out in court if they can be treated as a Terrorist Organization and allowed to use the tools they have available to go after terrorist against Antifa.

It does not really do anything per se. It does not allow RICO charges, or any special investigation to take place or allow extra force, etc.

There is no "domestic terrorist" list like with foreign groups.

What this does do is let the Antifa freaks know that they aren't going to be allowed to do as they please without repercussions. Keep acting like you have been acting and you will be arrested and tried accordingly.

It is more a statement of policy and announcement of where LEO will be looking than anything else. And a great one!

Here's the irony regarding Portland. I had a friend who is an absolute left wing nut job. Emphasis on "had." He is in a mixed race marriage. His wife is black. When he was "getting out of Texas" they took a cross country trip to decide where they wanted to live. He told me that Portland was one of the most racist cities they visited of all the liberal bastions they looked at.

the US Department of Commerce keeps a Denied Parties list and Specially Designated Nationals list which blocks economic transactions.

I believe ANTIFA will now be added to these denial lists.

I fully believe it...

I had a Washington state liberal tell me that the difference between Washington and Texas was that, "Here, we keep ourselves separate but we are all equal. In Texas, everyone is together but inherently unequal in treatment"

I actually couldn't believe the defense to racism there was "separate but equal". The scary part is this is normal for liberal bastions, basically devolves to "We aren't racist, we just don't hang out with or live near people who don't look like us".

I'm still waiting to see what specific entities are listed. Antifa is a challenge because it is I believe a large group of entities that quasi coordinate with each other, but with generally common goals (by comparison, BLM really was just around a couple dozen, but I think this is probably in the 4 figure range, part of the reason Wray was so smug about it being an 'idea').

That's a feature not a glitch to the Soros/CIA/State Dept types who can direct funds/goals to specific sub-groups then and guide them appropriately, but a problem for cutting off bank account access etc. Their communications networks though might make it easier to tie them together, if the FBI/DoJ is serious, as they tend to be low-IQ morons at a base level and probably have common discord/reddit etc. accounts/servers/channels.
