You're not a constitutional conservative, you support the civil rights act, which is mutually exclusive to the constitution. That is, they are completely incompatible.

The civil rights act got some things right and some things wrong. There shouldn't be any discrimination allowed for the categories covered under the Act as it relates to federally funded activities and services. State funded activities and services should be left up to the state. But good luck as a state if you want to start doing things like restricting drivers licenses to white people or not allowing white kids at your public state university.

Private businesses should be able to discriminate all they want. The market and society will decide if a restaurant that doesn't allow a specific race to eat there, for example, will be successful.

Imagine what they'd think today....

What's scary is some of the late 20th C assumptions seem to have frayed. Its no longer absolutely clear some of their views were so mistaken. Its a tricky question about the different groups as they seem to be not entirely fictional. So you might say we are closer to them now, then in 1995's world view. They would have been suspicious of the post Cold War multiculturalism and disparate values (see Teddy Roosevelt speech) of the end of the 20th C and this one.

Not sure what your question has to do with anything I said, but I'll answer it with this: Do you know even a single thing about the people who wrote the constitution?

Yes. They were political geniuses but some of them held some pretty awful viewpoints like it's okay to own people. Now obviously judging the morality of people anachronistically shouldnt be done, history should view people within the lens of their own time But that doesn't mean we have to be racist *******s in 2025.

Why would you think I think their morals were bad?

I honestly believe that they would immediately think "holy crap, slavery was a huge mistake, we need to scrap it ASAP and initiate a relocation program". They would also see the decay, depravity and destructions of the godless left and how much control they have and implement some type of safeguards in the founding documents.

To be fair, there is no way they could have predicted the evil and anti-American nature of the modern liberal.

Lysander Spooner was critiquing the scope of government the Constitution allowed in the 1800s.

I agree that they would have loved to have been way more specific, if they could see now what the Constitution has allowed.

I wouldn't mind the Israel stuff so much if we were allowed to promote the exact same policies here. Hell AIPAC would be find if they promoted the same policy they do for Israel for the US. You would think they would learn but I guess that's too difficult.
