The standards implied are useless. Bongino had this right. Most of them are opportunists and egotists, and to a voter the only concern should be to see them as tools. Which tool is willing to do what needed. Litmus tests are pointless, no one will pass them. By the same token what they say doesn't matter---if they say all the right things by the same Bongino rule, if they then vote with the Left it doesn't matter. The McCain vote on Obamacare might be a good example.

Vance was not a Leftist. He hardly could be given his background. What he was was someone who believed what was being put out. So you're not actually a constitutional conservative then since the Founders explicitly stated it only applies to just and moral people and is not applicable to others. John Adams was pretty explicit about what he meant here.

This is why it did not work in Liberia. It was never intended to be universally applicable to all people on the planet.
