previous interactions and history with the slain MIT professor will be very important. Whom he clearly knew and specifically targeted. Also, he had some previous history with Brown.

Providence was leading the show and releasing videos of suspects to the public and wanted more information/tips/videos from the public. This isn't a social media issue. You don't throw meat to the wolves and complain that they're too loud when they howl

he entered the building with the intent to commit mass murder -- fired 44 shots inside

managed to elude law enforcement for 5 days which is unusual for a mass shooter

I believe they said one of the pictures or videos was actually of the homeless person who tipped the whole thing off but the Providence press conference was such a mess, who knows

I would put a hold on this - but it certainly is still a possibility. I think that the motive will take a little time once this guy is looked at more.
