Jerry and Stephens personnel decisions are so so bad. Its almost as if they are completely unqualified to run the personnel side of an NFL franchise

Cowboys defense gave up like 5 explosive plays 25+ yards including a 63 yard flea flicker.
Zero pass rush and guys streaking free past the secondary.

Dak was the only reason the first two games were even competitive, and kept us in it today until the Pickens drop INT. Then throws his first legitimate INT of the year on 4th and goal down 17 with less than 5 minutes in the game and here come the haters.

We're now in a super awkward and precarious situation. On one hand you're absolutely loaded to the gills with contracts on the offensive side of the ball, and more times than not the offensive will be good enough to win a lot of games. But on the other hand the defense is actually the worst in the NFL and will 100% lose every game they play. So idk what you besides fire Eberflus and some defensive staff. On top of that this defense is going to take years to truly fix….and we don't have years. You're in a spot where your best offensive players need to win now, but the defense is two years away.

At a minimum, 2-3 starters need to be found in the draft next year. Then depending on cap space you need to sign 2-3 more. Posters above are right- it's a complete overhaul. And im still 100% behind the Parsons trade but they just don't have the personnel to cover without a serious pass rusher. Diggs is stealing money right now. That injury ruined him.
I think the pass rush is a multi-faceted issue: 1) we don't have an A pass rusher at the moment to not only win 1v1 but also to take pressure off of others; 2) we're very young and/or inexperienced now on the edges; and 3) we refuse to bring extra pressure off the edges. This combined with playing almost 100% zone behind it (and players there that aren't good enough) is why the defense is so stinking poor imo, outside of injuries of course.
I don't hate the edges rushers as a whole, but they're not good enough at this point to play Blue Bell vanilla defense. They need to be using their depth in numbers to bring pressure from all over and juts aren't.

It would not matter if the Cowboys had the best QB in the league, with this defense this team is awful

I don't see any way shape or form Sellers would or should come out this year. He's been beyond hit or miss. Needs to stay in school another year and get a lot better. It's either he sits an entire year at the NFL and doesn't play or plays one more year either at USCe or elsewhere. Mendoza is interesting but needs a lot more tape. Nussmeier is easily the most pro-ready QB between the ears, but is probably the most physically limited. Klubnik is in another galaxy right now. Shaping up to be a god awful QB class again.

This right here is correct. Offense is ready to win now. The defense is rebuilding. All this means is that this team is in trouble
