Technically yes. Heavy armor and the more you carry makes you "louder" and easier to detect.

Doesn't mean you can't still use it.

I must be lucky or I just scavenge really thoroughly. I have 38 fusion cores and have never bought a single one. My luck is only at 3 and I don't have the more ammo perk yet. I also have 6 power armor frames each with a different set (most are incomplete).

Yesterday while wondering around I came across one of those military checkpoints and was thinking score since there are at least 4 cores at those. Turns out a power armor frame was there too with the X-01 torso and right arm. I was super pumped.

And about selling cores, the price is the same no matter the charge so I've been running mine down to 2 or 1 percent and then changing cores to get the most out of them.

I have 150000 bottlecaps..on a mission to become millionaire... set up a trade system, profiting immensely.

I haven't reached the vendors yet. Does this one suffer the same issue as FO3 where none of the vendors ever have more than 300 caps at a time? I already have several hundred pounds of things to trade.

What level are you/how long have you been playing? I just hit level 18 and only have 4 Power armors and ten total fusion cores. I've gotten to Diamond City and the surrounding area but have not cleared out a lot of the buildings I've found around there yet.

Nope for recharging. I started with this guide and there are a few others that are similar on the net:

Fallout 4 Fusion Core Locations: Where To Find 20 Extra Power Armor Batteries Early

I had read that there was a fusion core in the cargo hold of Flight 1981 but cannot find it anywhere. Tips?

I'm level 30 but I had 20 cores by level 15. I would have over 40 but I'm using them more now. It took me forever to get to diamond city. I'm one of those who searches every file cabinet and trash can in every building I go in.

I search a lot as well, but feel like I haven't combed through the cities enough to see what else may be out there for me to explore. Concord and Lexington are either dead zones with nothing in there other than a sewer in Concord, or, I'm missing some areas connected with them.

Found success against the Super Mutants with Sniper Rifle (.308)

Okay, I am a dork.

I found the complete skill tree in tabular form online, downloaded it, and mapped out every level-up skill point allocation for 3 different characters: a hacker/lockpicker, a sneaker/sniper, and a meleer/puncher.

Sadness is I have to play the whole game before I can try another type of player.

I hope no other games come out in the next year.

You're not alone. I hand drew the perk chart and slowly started marking up which perks I wanted and what I already had up to level 50. Thought I could swing a gunslinger who can take a lot of damage and be a stealthy sniper type.....Nope, not gonna happen, it's one or the other and I'm going with the former since I've already put points and perks into strength & endurance.

After reading this thread I went from a sneaky character to a melee build with a super sledge. Much more fun.

I want to try a melee build also.

Stealth build just seems time consuming, especially with all the time spent looting/crafting

So I just found a never ending .44 pistol. And it's exactly as the name implies. Unlimited ammo capacity. Never needs reloading.

Thinking about taking the Lone Survivor perk the next time I level up... anyone actually enjoyed running around with any companions other than Dogmeat? I had Cait with me for about 20 minutes last night and she just ended up getting in the way. Have Valentine with me right now solely for a quest.. but will probably send him back to Sanctuary after I'm done with that one.

I'm still trying to find where dogmeat is at since he disembarked after he led me to Fort Hagen. Can't find him anywhere.

There are doghouses around Sanctuary where he will go and chill out. I think there are at least two, maybe three, in the area and he *should* be at one of them.

Did anyone get the actual official game guide with the game? Is it worth it just for the paperback version?

Yeah, he's not at any of those. I even deleted all the doghouses in Sanctuary and built a single one so I would know exactly where it was. Nothing.

This was my problem with New Vegas. I was always a lone wanderer and never cared much for companions. Well, after I beat the game I went back and tried to complete all of the companion missions for achievements.

A few worked fine, but I couldn't Complete Miguel's because some of the old dudes were gone from me doing missions, couldn't do the BoS chick's because I had blown up the bunker or something, couldn't do the doctor guy in the fort because of stuff I did with the legion.

I'd hate to get to a point in the game where I can't do these companion missions because of something I did or didn't do while farting around the commonwealth, but I also don't want to force myself to bring them around just to have them annoy the balls off me in the meantime.

If you get Maccready, become his friend, and do his quest then you get a perk that gives you headshots for days

Check at Red Rocket. He somehow ended up there for me. If not try sleeping/waiting for 2 days and check again.

Here is a tip that I have used when I can't find dogmeat:

quote:
First open the console command by hitting Tilde (~) and type "prid 0001d162." after that type "moveto player," and close the command console by hitting Tilde (~). This will bring Dogmeat right next to you. Remember, this method of getting Dogmeat back after you send it somewhere will only work on PC, due to the Tilde or ~ key.

The main reason I want a list is so you can see who does not have a job or what object does not have anyone assigned to it. Plus if someone DOES have a job it doesn't say. I can't tell you how many times I have found someone wandering and tried to assign them something only to find out later I pulled them off something they were already assigned to.

I haven't tried it yet, but can't you make them equip items? If so, give all your employed workers something identifiable to wear. Helmets or something. Then you'll recognize when people have or haven't been assigned a task.
