Since he didn't verify the info not a surprise.

I live near the boundary of Maricopa and Pinal Counties in Arizona and I can assure you it hasn't snowed here this winter. It shows both counties in green on the map.
So from that information you conclude the green on the map must mean "no snow" and the white means "snow"?

I believe a few pages back, MFR even hinted that would likely be coming.

Which color indicates has received snow?

You really saw that and can't figure it out? You really think Alaska hasn't gotten snow and south Florida has?

Is green the area that has had snow?
Yes, I think that is pretty obvious since the north is shaded that way.

With that said, poor choice of colors.

No I'm saying the map isn't accurate.

I talked to my BIL in McClennan County and he said he hasn't had snow and isn't aware whether they've had any elsewhere in the county. Maybe someone up there will weigh in.

You seem to have spent much of your time and energy worrying about some random map that someone with the screen name fat_ugly_rat posted. Maybe it is time to move onto something else.

Imaging uprooting your life and moving to AZ to spend all your time trolling Texags so you can remind everyone that you live in AZ every chance you get. He's worse than a Crossfitting vegetarian.

I'm retired and have too much free time maybe. I lived in Cypress and Spring for 28 years so I do keep up with what's happening there.

Our tropical forcing wants to not enter the Maritime Continent and crash back into our cold phases of 8-1.

It's a little early but it's starting to look like a cold February too. Check back next week.

Or he could go to the Arizona board.

I know I spend too much time on here, but I guarantee I won't be when I'm retired and elsewhere.

Next week and an Arctic blast?

Most of next week should be mild, with high temperatures in the lower 70s, and overnight temperatures in the upper 50s or lower 60s. However we've started to get a bunch of questions about the potential for another Arctic blast around the weekend of February 8. This is pretty far into the future, but so far there appears to be far more buzz about this on social media than there is evidence to substantiate a seriously cold blast. I'm not ready to rule anything out for a forecast that is more than 10 days into the future. The models are hinting at a frontal passage around that time, but at this point I'd say lows are more likely to be in the 40s rather than the 30s or even 20s. So we'll keep an eye on things, but I wouldn't go wrapping your pipes again just yet.

That's funny. Storm2k was adamant that February was going to be a hot one (compared to previous Febs).

The first week to 10 days will be mild, not hot. I've seen hot Februarys, 80s and 90s (twice) across all of Texas.

Mid month will be a battle ground of cold versus hot. Western Canada is about to load up with cold air (our source region).

All it will take is the AO relaxing, and it will bleed south.

This little gem was in the SCW recent Q&A post....
Quote:

However, with that said, there are distinct differences between, say, Hobby Airport and Galveston Island. So yes, "south of Interstate 10" does include Galveston, but it also includes half of this huge metro area. When we want to call out the coast specifically we'll say "coastal counties" i.e. Brazoria, Galveston, and Chambers counties. When we seek to highlight only areas very near the Gulf, which includes Galveston Island, we'll sometimes say "immediate coast."

By the same token, when we write something like "far inland areas" we mean areas along and north of Highway 105. And when we write "a place that sucks" we're referring to Dallas.

see those upper 80s, that means mid 90s in the San Antonio area. Same heat wave.

I should have clarified. I was simply pointing out that extreme heat in south Texas during February is not something new.

Looking like low 80s next Saturday. I'm going to warm up the pool. I think every year there is a week in Feb of great weather for a swim followed by a cold snap.
