i actually switched to ManU v Milan on a different Spanish channel since Theoson wasn't even playing for Young Boys, but they did end up subbing him in the 85th

Win against Costa Rica makes it so much easier to get into the semi's.

There's no reason why we shouldn't win.

curious about who they brought and didn't bring, but that's the hill they chose to defend.

On paper sure we should. However, due to players not being release this team is nowhere close to full strength. Aaronson and McKenzie both moved to Europe and are not released. Robinson was not released by Atlanta. That's your starting CB pairing and your #1 playmaker not available.

Costa Rican players are in mid-season form and many of the players actually play on the same team which are two big advantages.

There is concern on lack of players with creative playmaking abilities, especially in midfield, that may be a big issue.

I guess we shall see what Kreis has seen in camp to leave out some of the players that he did.

Heck, every country in the world has players that aren't released, shouldn't be an excuse. EVER.

There's two parts the player release issue. One, the talent level drops off significantly. Two, the players that aren't released are in mid-season form compared to the MLS players. That is a disadvantage the US has been battling since MLS was created.

USA is winning 1-0 at the 60 minute mark.

Just saw a Tico get booked for a dive in the penalty box.

They need another goal bad. They haven't been playing well in the last 39 minutes.

USA has had two really dangerous chances in last 10 or 15 minutes.

But it's an uphill battle. Costa Rica has dominated for long stretches.

Woah that was heart pounding.

Ochoa is the man.

Overall very poor soccer. Bad touches and inaccurate passes. And I'm forgiving them for not being on the same page.

True and that's the flaw with the Olympics. Our national team is practically a u23 team.

Not the flow with the Olympics. It's the problem with our youth development and we're finally catching up. Next cycle, the national team won't be Olympic eligible for a change.

Absolutely there's a flaw. The best U23 worldwide aren't released.

My second sentence had nothing to do with the flaw.

All the U-XX competitions, including the Olympics, are flawed as you never have best U-XX represented. The problem isn't with the Olympics.

You do often see teams send close to the best 20ish players to the actual Olympics though. It's complicated this year because it runs up close against WCQ and the Gold Cup.

I'd almost rather the Federation reach out to all the cluibs our best players are at and say "we wont call them for the Gold Cup if you release them for the olympics" (if we make it to the Olympics)

Clint was my first thought as well. In my opinion we haven't had as many masters of the dark arts of the game as we should have.

If jeremaine Jones had more tenure he would probably be tops
