Excited to see Josh face VVD in the EPL season opener.
senior usmnt roster getting harder to crack and so many promising prospects, perhaps a usmnt but restricted to certain ages? something to think about

Pulisic also revealed his reaction to the Gold Cup triumph, saying he watched the entire game despite the time difference.
The USMNT was able to top Mexico on a 117th-minute finish from Miles Robinson in a game that went deep into the night in Las Vegas, but that didn't stop Pulisic from staying up to watch his teammates' victory.
"Honestly, it was just incredible," he said. "I mean how far this team has come. We've had different squads in for the Nations League, for the Gold Cup, and no one has backed down from the challenge. And I'm seeing just a fight in this group that it makes me so proud and just very excited for what's to come.
"I went absolutely nuts at four in the morning. I was jumping out of my bed. I was so excited. I mean it, yeah, I mean you could just feel it coming and then it happened. And it was just amazing to watch."
Yea, for some reason our US federation has been really bad about getting the youth teams together in camps and playing friendlies. It seems like the kind of thing that would be really important, and a lot of countries do it regularly (especially Mexico)fig96 said:
My first response was "we do have those", then realized he's probably alluding to the fact that we in fact do have those teams that either don't qualify for (or succeed in) meaningful tournaments, have consistent coaches and player groups, or get the appropriate players called up for them.

Not sure how you define a top tier league but I would consider the Bundesliga a top tier league.
The Sargent - Bremen relationship is not salvageable at this point. Norwich and Bremen agreed to let Sargent play in the DFB as his last game at Bremen over the weekend. Sargent went to the staff and said he was not able to play. Bremen staff was very displeased with that decision.

How good was he in the Bundesliga last year? I feel like he needs to play in Bundesliga 2 or the English Championship, or another like for like league. Dude just isn't that impressive to me and he's going to be playing behind Pukki, who has more skins on the wall and is more proven.
Dude needs to play. He's young.
To add to this.....Quote:
He was consistently the bright spot of that team when he played. The problem with Bremen last season is that they employed a single striker formation and were so abysmal at getting service to that striker they basically were playing without one. It was rough. Bremen was historically bad at scoring goals last season.
Watching the boys celebrating at the end puts a giant smile on my face!PatAg said:

The points gap from the prior ranking period was bigger than the net difference of the points gained for this period. The gap was 75 points last period, but now is only 10 points. Only Italy earned more points than we did from May to August rankings.fig96 said:We did just beat Mexico in back to back finals?oragator said:

You talking about the friendly that neither Adams or Pulisic played in? The one we started Jackson Yueill in? Definitely our best 11.oh no said:
did anyone watch the USMNT friendly loss to Switzerland just before the concacaf nations league games this summer?
Both summer cups and both rosters were great to watch and the US player pool looks as deep and talented as it ever has. I don't think I've ever been higher on USA soccer. Still, I find it hard to believe right now that our best 11 would beat Netherlands, Germany, Croatia, Uruguay, Colombia, etc. (yet). I don't think Mexico would either.
Mexico beat Germany soundly in WC'18. Mexico and US definitely passes the eyeball test compared to those you listed.oh no said:
yeah; i'm talking about that friendly... of course adams, pulisic could have made a difference in that friendly, and I think the USMNT could beat anyone in the world, but the eye ball test, #9 Mex and #10 USA, both ahead of germany, netherlands, denmark, croatia, uruguay, etc. Even though they pass them on the FIFA formula, I don't think they pass the eyeball test just yet. that's all i'm saying.
I get really nervous and scared during qualifying. I'm worried (I'm not joking) that if the USA doesn't make the WorldCup I may not live long enough to see the next one. It's been a fear of mine since the 2002 WorldCup in Korea/Japan...Bryan98 said:
When was the last time the US failed to advance from the group stage of a WC? We're perennial overachievers, if anything. Not qualifying last time was a major shock, nationally and personally.
