The next step for FIFA and CONCACAF is points. And it needs to be a big enough point hit to make WCQ iffy. If stopping racism is that important to FIFA then they need to put their money where their mouth is.

Don't look now, but they may be in the best shape of anyone, they've played their two toughest matches already ,three of four away, and are only two points out of first.

One more quick note…yes this is more watered down than the hex, but we didn't get past 8 points til our 8th game in 2018 qualifying. Get a point this weekend and we will do it in 5. At worst it should be in 6, so we are well ahead of schedule compared to the debacle that was the last hex.

For the record, Canada has played 2 home and 2 away games. Now their two away games were at USA and Mexico, but they have played 2 home games as well.

I wonder if at some point Steffan will get a spot start. I like playing both the hot GK and the guy who is actually playing games and Steffan isn't doing any of those things right now for City. But at some point you may need him. I kind of like the idea of getting him a start this window since the team is playing well and it's a weaker set of games.

My rule of thumb is never waste a sub on a GK but with 5 you should always keep one in your pocket just in case a GK gets hurt.

I'm inclined to agree, but I think Turner starts in Panama, and if we get a win, I feel like Gregg will give Steffen the 3rd start (playing with house money kind of feel).

Supposedly Steffen and A. Robinson aren't making the trip to Panama anyway, so we wouldn't see a keeper change until the final game of the window.

I feel like I've seen it happen late in matches a handful of times, not recently though.

Didnt it happen in a MLS playoff game last year when a GK was sent off during PKs (for coming off his line early)? And then after much confusion, a field player had to replace because they were out of subs

Yeah I think that's right because Robinson played the full 90. Dest was subbed out so I bet he starts out at LB @ Panama with Bello probably subbing in for him if we're ahead in the 2nd half.

Will definitely be interesting to see how Berhalter rotates the squad for Panama.

I'm actually already looking forward to the starting XI against Mexico next window.
