This team is poorly coached, won't get out of group stage at the World Cup if they qualify. I watched a ton of the Euro Cup matches and we'd get smoked by just about any of them. They are embarrassing.

I starred this because overall you're right, but as a Leipzig fan who probably watches Adams more than anyone, I'll say I have a love-hate relationship with him. He's fantastic at defense and possession. He's almost utterly worthless in attack. At Leipzig it usually works because they let their CBs play upfield and Adams will fill in on defense. We don't do that on USMNT… so he's very nearly a liability when we're in situations where we should be playing positive (which is most of the time in CONCACAF).

If that's the case then that's just shllty coaching. But I think that's Zardes' game - he's a poacher. It just bleeds into the questionable decisions from GGG, IMO. Zardes is a great sub, brings energy later in the match, especially if you're up. He just doesn't possess the quality you need from a starter.

There is no question that Zardes was asked to drop back. He was generally in the defensive end of pitch and not just on set pieces.
