Canada is marching towards their first World Cup since 1986 and their government is their fans biggest problem. That place should be a sea of Maple Leafs and a white hot atmosphere. If I were a Canuck I'd be p*ssed beyond belief.

Wow. 68 yards wide is like a HS field. Thats 10 yards narrower than an average pro field and 12 under max.

I think we all know Zardes' weaknesses, but his strengths lend themselves to the conditions of the field and the expected tactics of the game.

I'm going to try my best to remember this when he is misplaying rudimentary chances, so that I can celebrate the goal that goes in off his hip.

He corrected himself and said that US Soccer had said its 68 yards last night, and CONCACAF today says it is 70 yards (which is the minimum apparently)

I imagine if you mesaured it right now it would be 68 yards. I want to say all the fields I played on in my teens in DFW were 70 yards.

He also does a good job of dragging defenders around
I had to make a concerted effort to put his first 3-4 years of national team play out of my mind, becuase he is a different player now

Most pro fields are 76-78 yards wide. The maximum allowed is 80. We have 2 HS fields that are 120x80. That extra width is huge if you aren't used to it. Those suicide corners are deep.
