Milan derby today

Ian Darke was crying in the first half about Real Madrid fouls on City. I'm like this is a Pep team. All Pep teams foul like crazy. Like Alabama offensive line. Do it every time and you won't get called.

The potential handball situations in that game were good no calls in my book. But the missed corner and out of bounds on the buildup to City's score were big whiffs. And it's not entirely the crew's fault. VAR isn't allowed to review those situations. Those aren't reviewable situations if they aren't directly involved in the goal scoring play and they weren't.

That said, it's ridiculous to me that VAR rules don't allow corner vs. free kick or out of bound decisions to be made.

With the automated technology it ought to be super easy and quick to catch a missed out of bounds, so it ought not impede game speed.

Corner/free kick situations have been my beef for a long time. They're so important, and frequently get called incorrectly, yet they're really easy to review. It's already a stoppage. It's a no brainer to review. The time it takes to set up a free kick or corner is nearly always going to be enough to get a quick review in and buzz down.
