I was saying that the USWNT and USSF tried to blow over the Olympics performance as a fluke rather than really starting to look at some glaring issues that have been popping up for years now

Did Press and Heath have the same critiques about Vlatko before the tournament? This team has looked disjointed for a while. Maybe they need GGG's tinkering and vibe squad mentality

Not publicly that I know of. But they were both on the senior women's side up until recent injuries, so it's probably unreasonable for them to have been vocal in that way.

But then the results would not have been as surprising as they suggest. And they are not going to throw their teammates under the bus

Just watched Japan v Sweden, fun match. I really enjoy watching Japan, they find space really well and are relentless when they defend. Gonna be a tough matchup if we advance.

You mean Japan vs Norway. We're playing Sweden in the morning.

Due to the start times, school and then a short holiday immediately after summer vacation started, the Japan/Norway match was the first game I was able to watch with my 5 year old daughter. She could not care less when I watch men's soccer but she was thrilled the watch the ladies play.

Japan's pink and purple kits were a big hit but she's very excited to watch the Dutch (on tape) and US play. I'm afraid though that the USWNT demise is coming at an inopportune (for me) time for her fandom. If the US lose tomorrow and the NL goes on to win it, I'm screwed.

Highly entertaining…goalies making some really good saves and RSA is running right at the Dutch. Their pace is staggering and gloriously chaotic.
