She should not have been on the squad. Clearly only there because of marketing. As one of the most outspoken critics about equal pay, she sure doesn't mind taking a spot and paycheck from younger more deserving players.

Losing Bunny Shaw on a cheapo 2CT like that is gonna hurt Jamaica though. Compare Shaw's tackle for a second caution to that Quinn tackle for Canada (v. Nigeria) in the first 15 minutes that didn't get a yellow and it's very strange.Furlock Bones said:

I'm sick of the "world" cup being the US and 7 teams from Europe in the quarterfinals.
I get it that it is repetitive, but the other teams need to get better and earn their spots in the quarter finals.

There is an entire other thread's worth of commentary that could be had over why all those other countries are dreadfully bad, but the quick and dirty reason is money. Don't want to derail from what this thread is about but there is likely a quantifiable reason for the gap between the haves and have-nots.

What happened that Schneider is not the starting keeper for Jamaica? She had a very good last WC. I didn't watch the game, so I don't know if their starting keeper had a good game against France, but shutting them out, someone on the D was playing good.Furlock Bones said:

Expanding the tournament like they did will help gain interest in different areas of the world, but it will definitely take time.

It's a stupid tackle at 90+2' that she didn't need to make on the touchline. It's got just a whiff of reckless catching Renard. And Renard screaming sold it even more.
Given the number of missed reckless and excessive fouls that have gone unpunished and even worse not even whistled so far it stands out as really harsh. Sadly it's not even in the top 10 bad calls so far. If it had not been Bunny Shaw I'm not sure anyone would notice.

Besides the physical limitations, she was just bad. Lots of unguided missiles from her. Worse, there were more dumb plays than smart ones.
