If I'm LA I let Deshawn Stevenson shoot whatever he wants.
apparently only dallas will have matchup problems, not la....and i dont mind stevenson shooting some early on, but if his shot isnt going down, he needs to stop after 2-3
Dallas looking good from 3, but I don't mind those.
If they start hitting 3's it spells the end, they will fall in love with them and go cold at the end of the game.
At no point will I ever complain about making threes. If we start missing them over and over and don't make the adjustment, that's when we have a problem.
I'm pleased with the first quarter of the series. Looks like they are poised.
Good game so far. I expect the Lakers to win, but it's weird seeing all these new matchups. How have these teams not met in the playoffs this decade (or last) ?
open 3's are fine
We need to mix in getting to the rim more, starting to get that usual "live by the 3, die by the 3"' feeling.
9 three point attempts at this point is not a good thing. It's b/c of the adjustment reason, they won't make one if the 3's aren't falling.
For us to win this series, we're going to have to hit our 3's. We're all in agreement that we should attack the basket as much as possible, but the fact of the matter is that LA has the advantage inside.

agreed, although the ball movement has been as good the last 4-5 minutes
Scenario. They are solid defense on Dirk. Kidd probes around and passes a few times. Then he penetrates and draws double team. Then he kicks it to Peja, JET, etc who are wide open outside the arc.
That is terrific play. If the Lakers let Mavs shoot those 3s, it's good for Mavs.
Jacking up a trey with 19 second left on shot clock is dumb. Especially with Steve Blake guarding Dirk. Mav shot selection has been great so far.

I just hate when we finally get a post up in deep and just kick it back out for a contested 3. Marion had it deep (against Odom mind you), but didn't even try to make a move. Kicked out to Kidd for a miss.
Terry is the worst defender in the league, getting a shake down by Derek Fisher....jeeeeez.

Dumb play by Jason Terry. That said, it's a laughable call from NBA refs. I've seen that same play not whistled about 20 times tonight.

Don't ever throw the second elbow. Another case of refs overstepping their bounds.
Four free points for LA with .6 on the clock. That's a great way to lose playoff games.
