By the way, look at where the standard is--Lebron doesn't have drug problems, baby mamas or DUIs so he's a good guy.

Well, 2 out of three so he's a good guy.

Is that the standard? It isn't THAT rare to be a law abiding citizen in sports.

Yankees brought it up and was wrong about it. He got his GF pregnant twice and they're not married. That's a baby mama.

I'm not arguing he's a bad guy, btw, but who cares?

Lebron has been with the same women for a long time. That is not what is meant by the term baby-mama. He plays a selfless brand of basketball, doesn't get in trouble, and has handled some very difficult situations (like his mom and a teammate in Cleveland) with lots of grace.

Lebron is a special talent and a good guy, and he gets more unfair treatment than any athlete I can remember. Everybody blasts him for The Decision, but nobody seems to remember that h did it to make millions for a charity.

You think he didn't ask for attention with that dog and pony show? So what, he gets to decide that after that it should only be good attention?

Are these really the standards you generally apply to athletes? I just seriously doubt it, because most fans don't.

You really can't see how, after the fireworks fest he hosted with Bosh and Wade, claiming they'd be on their way to winning 7+ titles, people would be happy to see him fail?

I notice one thing you haven't identified as a quality he has is humility. That's important because it is the absence of that quality that has made so many anti-fans.

Malone and Payton were way over the hill and didn't win dick. Gasol, complain or no, was never a free agent. KG gave Minnesota 12 freaking years and Allen spent 12 years in the black holes of Milwaukee and Seattle.

LeBron was playing for his hometown team, had made the Finals and had a GM that was at least trying to bring folks in to help him...then he treated his hometown team like his father treated him except in a wildly public forum. THAT is why he has haters.

Ding ding ding. Plus none of them were a top 3 NBA player going to play with #1 rival and top 5 NBA player

Yankees got smacked down. Shocker YANKEES loves lebron

...and it's not that he's a cheater. More that he's a quitter. He didn't want to do it the hard way. He's also on record as saying he wouldn't work as hard on his game as Kobe does.

Not many people want someone to win who keeps taking the easy way out.

Hey LeBron haters. Just stop.

You would think that after a couple of years, you true NBA fans would just give a guy credit for just being a really good basketball player. I truly think that if the guy actually committed an actual crime some of you would like him better.

And someone please tell me, what in the hell does he owe Cleveland again? He made that franchise relevant again and since he's left, they suck again.

I really don't care about any of these guys' personal life. But I enjoy seeing great players play and compete. Some of ya'll should just do the same.

You know, Lebron should just be happy people care at all.

Multimillionaire. And that's not enough. He has to be loved. This finals is going to blow the ratings out. And 48 states in the country want to see him fall flat.

Why is it this guy can't just life with it?
Yu Darvish
How long do you want to ignore this user?
While the ratings will likely be better... I don't think near as many people care who wins this year. Last year, for the average American, it was much easier to hate the Heat/Lebron. Losing made them much more affable.

You really think Lebron cares what you, I, or the public thinks?

It is O.K. for you to root for your team and your favorite player.

IMO, You look pathetic knocking someone that can do things you or I could never do.

Again Lebron hater, just stop hating and root for your team. It makes you look stupid.

He appears to care. Or at least has plenty of people caring for him. If he doesn't, good for him. It's just his defenders that need to get past it.

People cheer against objectively good players and teams all the time. There are Yankees haters and Cowboys haters and Patriot haters and Giant haters. And there are Heat haters.

It's like you guys have never followed sports.

You're right! People do hate teams all of the time. And I understand that.

What I do not understand is the personal hate for an individual, whose only transgression was to exercise his free agent rights and pick a bad forum to publicize those rights.

It has nothing to do with him being a dirty player, being a bad guy or committing a crime against society. I am a a fan of LeBron, but I am also a fan of Durant, Kobe, Wade, etc, because of what they do on the court.

I just think that some of you should save the hate for guys who really deserve it.

Is that all he did? He didn't get up on a stage with two other guys to the exclusion of the rest of his team and claim they were going to win multiple championships?

That's the most you could find? A Cleveland forum where some people say bad things about Lebron (shocking!) and two articles written by this guy:

quote:
Wojnarowski has been criticized for his use of anonymous sources in articles concerning NBA player Lebron James. Other writers have noted an apparent bias towards James in Wojnarowski's reporting. For his loss of objectivity in covering Lebron James, Adrian Wojnarowski was listed #1 in Sports Media Watch's Worst of Sports Media 2010.
In 2010 the New York Post reported that Wojnarowski was being sued by the Penguin Group for failing to meet a book deadline covering the life of coach Jim Valvano.

I have no doubt at all the Lebron had a LOT of growing up to do when he came in the league. He was an 18 year old kid who had been catered since he was around 13 because of his unprecedented talents. He was raised by a mom the sort of which would go on to sleep with one of his Cleveland teammates. Of course he was immature. Wouldn't you be?

Despite all that, he has progressed into a person who never gets in trouble, appears stable, and plays a selfless brand of basketball.

There's a salary cap for a reason. I don't consider this cheating the competition, because even with those guys, you can't add as many role players under the salary cap. It's not Lebrons fault that cleveland couldn't build enough around him.

No, not bingo. This is still stupid. How many did Jordan have at this point in his career? You can't compare Jordans entire career to what Lebron has done by age 26. That's just stupid and illogical. But alas, when you hate something, you don't think logically.

No, it isn't. He has haters because he is considered the best player in the game, and like all of the best players(Tiger, Brady, Pujols, etc), you have your haters. There doesn't have to be any other reason. The leaving Cleveland, not one, not two, not three stuff. NONE of that matters if he wasn't so damn good. If he was just a decent player, no one would care. He has haters because he's the best. Simple as that.

Actually no, it's the opposite. he's pretty much owned this dense Jacques poster, who I'm starting to think might be one of your socks.

And way to cite one incident, Junkhead. Something tells me even the best of people will come across as an ahole from time to time.

I don't understand this, how does the Heat having a celebration affect you? Any team would've thrown a celebration, in fact 2 other cities had parades planned had he chosen them.

And he didnt say they would for sure win multiple championships, he said he believed that they could win multiple championships if they took care of business.

Oh, but let's get mad about 'the decision', that awful thing that raised 4 million dollars for charity, what an awful and selfish human being.

All these people taking the things LeBron has done personally crack me up because then they turn around and say their favorite players are Kobe or Michael. You know, the guys that have been known for gambling addiction, cheating on their wives and one was even accused of rape. But when it comes to those guys they only want to focus on what happens on the court.

They don't affect any of us, but to the average fan, it's as if their own relative committed those crimes. That's what's so frustrating abount the blind hatred for certain players (KG, LeBron, Karl Malone, etc)

Ninja, THEY DON'T, and I don't care about them. Tiger Woods is my favorite player in golf, I don't care about anything that goes on off the course. I don't care about anything that happens off the basketball court either. It really irritates me when ESPN turns into to E-News and creates and talks about all this off-field drama BS instead of talking about sports.

I was just pointing out that I thought it was funny that the people that care so much about LeBron off the court don't care at all when it comes to other players.

Miami stole a game in OKC, and now they can close out at home if they take care of business. That road trip went about as well as it could have gone.

The series is going back to OKC, but Miami is in good position.

I thought at the beginning of the series the 2-3-2 coupled with having a horrible home court advantage would hurt the Heat. I don't see them winning 3 or 4 in a row against this team, and I don't think they will win again in OKC. Still think OKC is in a good spot.
