So this Camby trade was about "gathering more assets to trade for Howard"? Yeah I'm sure Orlando can't wait to get their hands on Harrelson, Douglas and Jordan. Those guys are studs.

where is this train wreck going?

Would someone do me the favor of listing out the Rockets' roster/depth chart as it stands right now (after all of the recent trades, free agency, and the draft)?

Aside from the acquired draft selections, which have netted approximately d!ck to this point, the Rockets haven't landed much value in in exchange for the likes of Chase Budinger, Kyle Lowry, Samuel Dalembert, and now Marcus Camby. There are also now huge depth problems caused by the inability to resign Courtney Lee and Goran Dragic. There's no two-deep at point and we are absent now two centers.

I'm just not certain what it is they are doing. I'd like to see a plan unfolding. If that plan is to tank, then they certainly are doing a quality job of it but this team doesn't even resemble an NBA roster at this point. Maybe a few of the young guys pan out but an aging Kevin Martin and Luis Scola, and a dime-a-dozen Patrick Patterson, Marcus Morris, and Chandler Parsons don't exactly get me juiced up for the future of this team.

The Rockets have a dozen players useful for making the numbers work in a deal, but do they have any players that anyone really wants?

I would imagine that most of those guys get traded before the season starts. If you want a realistic look at the Rocket depth chart as of right now (which, IMHO is silly since Free Agency hasn't even really kicked off):

Livingston/Douglas/Boykins?
Martin/Lamb
Parsons/Morris/Jones
Scola/Motie/Patterson/White
[Asik?]/Harrellson/Jordan

The rest will be cut, traded or stashed somewhere...

610am reporting that the Rockets vetoed this trade: (unclear if before or after draft)

Rockets get: Bynum and 1st round pick
Lakers get: Lowry, Scola, 3 first round picks

That rumor is fishy becuase I doubt they would make that trade with only Jordan Hill left at center.

I can't see the Lakers or Rockets doing that. Rockets don't want to give up everything for a 8 month rental of Andrew Bynum. Give away 3 picks and their two best players for Bynum and Bynum isn't resigning.

Bynum has already stated he wants to play in Houston so he would have resigned. I'm surprised Morey didn't take that deal, actually I bet it was never on the table bc he would have taken that.
