Lin's teammate called it ridiculous because it would have cost the Knicks 56 million dollars in luxury tax in 3 years if they matched it because of the way it was structured. If it was just 8mm/year, the Knicks would have matched it without question.

What's more ridiculous, Lin's contract, or the Knicks trading half a team for Carmelo when they could have had him for free a few months later?

Lin helps keep Dwight because of his marketability. Doesn't mean we will, but it increases our chances. At worst, the final year of Lin's contract he becomes a valuable expiring contract.

And Sessions averaged 11 PPG and 5 APG in his career (12 PPG and 6 APG in 23 games for the Lakers) and you thought he was going to be the final piece in helping the Lakers win the championship last season.

Last season, Lin was the 8th most efficient scorer on ISO plays last year per MySynergySports... I think moneyball guys really like him.

Lin really has a Tebow feel to him in that some people really like him and others really don't. I personally think he will be a quality starting PG, but we'll see.

Because max level players almost always sign-and-trade anyways, and there's no guarantee he'd sign with us.

Now ESPN reporting that the Cavs are back in the mix. Saying Varejo, Bynum, and Howard are all involved. Doesn't make sense from Orlando's perspective. I'll give Hennigan credit for trying to get the best deal possible, but I don't see how the best deal is one that doesn't involve Houston's cap flexibility, guaranteed lottery pick, and Martin's contract.

I'm thinking the same thing Gradin. Why would Orlando want Varejo? They are trying to shed cap and he's not cheap. 8.4, 9.1, and 9.8 the next three years.

At this point I get the feeling that potential partners with Orlando are getting fed up with their reluctance to pull the trigger on a deal?

That is how women argue when they lack actual facts and opinions, by changing the subject. A correct response would have been to explain why Simplebays post was factually wrong and his opinion invalid, then chastise him for lack of knowledge and advise him not to discuss topics he does not understand. Agreed. LA really wants to get a deal done, but Orlando is stalling. LA could move on. I still think the deal will have to go through Houston.
