How can we forget, it's pretty much the only thing Houston fans can even bring up when it comes to the Spurs-Rockets.

In my original quote about playing the Rockets I was referencing the previous statement about Duncan not seeing them there. Sorry for the confusion that lead to Rockets memory lane.

Should be a great competitive series. The concerns I have with the Spurs center around their role players stepping up and making a difference. Guys like Leonard, Bonner, Green, and Diaw.

Plus, we're not dealing with an idiot coach like Del Negro here. Popovich knows what the hell he is doing.

As a side note, the press conferences should be really interesting with Hollins and Popovich who both have low tolerance for sports media journalists...

How was that not blatant traveling on Hakeem? He takes two steps, then completely stops and pivots, and then changes pivot feet. That's worse than the Jordan rules, and there's no way to defend that.

Look at the shooting percentages of the Spurs for almost the entire Golden State series. They're due some above average shooting games. That will help. But the Grizzles are the best defense. Hopefully whoever wins can take the Heat down.

Huh? The only foot he pivots off is his left

He shuffles to the R foot just before going up for his shot. He technically pivots on it, but if you'd rather call it taking a 3rd step after his two-steps into a pivot, then fine, I won't mince words. Still has to be an obvious travel though.

Pivot foot can pivot.

I could be wrong, but I thought as long as he doesn't pick up his pivot foot (left) off of the ground before he leaps, it's OK

I don't think its as simple as whoever wins the rebound battle wins the game. Obviously that's going to be a huge emphasis but as long as its a fairly close margin, I think whoever shoots the ball better might win the series.

The Spurs have gone through some struggles shooting the ball and the Grizz D isn't going to give many open looks so the Spurs need to capitalize when they can.

The Spurs defense has been really really good as of late and you mix that in with Memphis' offensive struggles and they might have a real tough time scoring.

I think were in store for some low scoring games and whoever can make the most shots when it counts will prevail.

If and when Tiago or Duncan get in foul trouble I hope Pop goes to Baynes for some spot minutes off the bench instead of Blair/Bonner. This series just isn't for them.

Pop is weird sometimes on how he treats rookies in this situation so lets hope he learned his lesson in 2011 about trotting Bonner and Blair out there to defend Zbo and Gasol.

Some good thoughts on the matchup. I think Splitter coming around from his ankle injury is huge for SA in this one. And agree about throwing Baynes out there to bang for a few minutes here and there.

The Clippers and Thunder don't have the discipline, experience, weapons or coaching that the Spurs do.

Clippers and Thunder without Westbrook are nowhere near as good as the Spurs, assuming Parker is healthy.
