LOL @ the NBA standings - Dallas would be #2 in the East, and is currently #9 in the West.

I was at the game yesterday, and damn Larkin looks tiny out there. I knew he was small, but never realized how small he actually is (height and very thin). But I guess he is athletic enough to make up for it.

Monta is a blast to watch. He is obviously one of the most exciting players in the league and seems to be a great team player so far. He dominated the game last night and has been racking up points and assists all year long.

I also like how Calderon handles himself with the team. He seems to always be upbeat, giving advice, not letting guys get down during a rough stretch, etc. You can tell he really wants to go to win and go to the playoffs (I may be wrong, but I don't think he's ever been?) now that he is on a legitimate playoff team.

Dalembert also impressed me last night. He caught a couple of tough passes and finished above the rim. I guess it's because I am used to our past centers, but I would kinda cringe when we would give him the ball in traffic and thought he would just have to pass it back out...But he was able to catch the ball and dunk it in traffic. It was pretty impressive.

i like the blair pickup. why did the spurs let him go?

i think b.wright when he gets back will add another dimension to this team.

Dalmebert sucks in catching the ball and finishing, but guess we know that already.

Crowder has improved a lot.

Marion, Dirk and VC are who we thought they were.

Calderon's three point shot is pleasantly surprising.

Net, 50-32, a 6 seed and a seven game loss in the first round.

That low back door bounce pass to Dalembert from Ellis was an eye opener. Great pass and a nice finish.

Yea, that's one of the plays I'm talking about. "Eye opener" is a good way to describe it. When it happened, me and the person next to me both had a "did that really happen look on our face," and then we just kinda shrugged and said "wow...alright!"

I'll take a stab at the Blair/Spurs thing and probably forget I posted here since I don't have watchlist.

Blair started off at Spurs liking to eat Whataburger and be fat for training camp. Then he'd just completely check out of a game sometimes.

When you look at the bigs Spurs have for them, you've got 6'11" Duncan/Splitter, 6'10" Bonner/Baynes, 6'9" Ayers and 6'8" Diaw playing the positions that Blair would (6'7"). Blair can rebound because he has hustle but he only really played well with Manu and the latter just isn't the guy he was several years ago.

Splitter doesn't suck so he's got the C position, Duncan is the PF with Diaw/Bonner/Baynes coming in at those positions as well from the bench. 6'7" Leonard can play PF at times. Round mound of croissant Diaw is a better passer and shooter than Blair as well.

I'm guessing Pop just didn't see the need to keep Dejuan around at whatever payscale he was looking for since Splitter came about.

Also, Blair is American and Pop hates American players.

Also if you look at his regular season numbers and compare them to his playoff numbers, there is quite the drop off. His stats per minute were fine but for some reason Pop didn't trust him or like him playing any significant minutes in the playoffs.

What a comeback last night. We have one of te best 1-2 punches in the ame right now. If we could just find a way to make a few stops...

I think Larkin may start to get quite a few minutes bc he is the only one who seems to be able to play some perimeter defense.

Big two wins in a row for us. We needed them after the rough stretch we went through.

I love Rick but what kind of dumbass inbound play was that to turn the ball over at the end of the 4th. I mean you had it locked up. Don't throw it to "turnover" Ellis on the sideline where they can trap and force a turnover!!!!

Refs screwed up and we screwed up not fouling Aldridge when he caught the ball. I have no clue why coaches still refuse to foul when up by 3. It makes absolutely no sense. Especially when a player has the ball below the three point line and there is no chance of fouling a 3 point shooter.

Oh well great shot by monta for the win.

Solid win and even better considering Dirk only had to play 27 minutes while still filling the stat sheet quite well.

Yea, I figured we would play well last night considering we were coming off of so much rest.

Glad we could hang on last night. That game may end up being important for a tie breaker at the end of the year.

Looking listless vs. the Wiz. I really can't stand NeNe or Washington's coach.

Kevin Love was hacked hard on that last play against the Wolves Monday. Oh well...dont remember the NBA making a statement about the 2006 NBA Finals. Take it.

Good win against the Wiz. Racking them up.

Big two wins in a row against New Orleans. We really needed to win both after how we had looked the previous 4 or 5 games. Dirk came up huge last night.

It's looking like we will be the 7 or 8 seed. I can't see us moving up much more than that, but I also don't really see us not making the playoffs.

That game makes me want to throw up. That was sickening.

Up 4, 50 seconds left, with ball....What the **** was Monta thinking shooting a 20 foot jump shot with 17 seconds left on the shot clock? Hold the ball and throw up a prayer with 1-2 seconds left and that game is basically over. That was inexcusable. That was the Monta a lot of us were afraid we might be seeing when we made the signing. Surprisingly, he hasn't had any other head scratching moments that I can think of this year, so I guess we can give him a pass.

Not that Monta is the only one who has blame on that one. Up 17 with 4 minutes left, there is plenty of blame to go around, including Dirk. He couldn't manage to score on JJ Reddick and went like 0-5 in the last 5 minutes and fowled Crawford on a 3.

I love Dirk and think he is great, but I didn't like how our offense basically just stopped during the last 4 minutes and we just gave it to Dirk every time down the floor. We were scoring at a season high pace running our offense, scoring at will. The Pick and rolls with Wright and our ball movement made us unstoppable. Why not stick with what's been working all game instead of just giving the ball to Dirk and watching what he does? It's not just the Mavs who do this, almost all teams do this in the final minutes and I just don't understand why. Is it just bc you need to have "a go to guy" so you feel like you can't just run your offense at the end of games? We definitely would have scored more than 6 points in the final 5 minutes if we had kept running what we had been running the entire game.

Mavs are in a bad place. Best player on downside of career, great coach that wont let them tank and just good of team thats not nearly good enough to challenge

Serious question. Why has this thread not made it to the 3rd page, while the Rockets thread is approaching 2,300 replies?

Dwight, larger Houston to Dallas poster ratio, etc. taken into consideration.
