Back to actual mavericks basketball....

If we play like we did last night defensively the rest of the way we will be tough to beat. We don't usually shoot that poorly and miss that many open looks.

Larkin and Crowder and Marion looked damn good on defense yesterday and our help defense was much improved. If Larkin and Crowder could develop a sharper offensive game they would see a lot more minutes. Also Dalembert was pretty awful underneath the basket on offense yesterday. Dirk and Sam can run some great basketball down low up until its time for Dalembert to touch the ball. Someone like Greg Monroe would kill it on this team with Dirk.

It would be nice for the Mavs to continue this February push and get some separation heading into March which has a much much tougher schedule.

It's still to early to start thinking about playoff matchups yet because so much can change with ~30 games left. The only exception would be that I don't want to see us on the same side of the bracket as OKC if at all possible.

8-1 in those games. Only loss was that damn Houston game where Ellis and Calderon combined for 5/25 or something like that and dirk went 38/17.

I'll take 8-1 though. It's been fun.

Welp looking at these team stats without watching the game you might be confused. So many sloppy turnovers and and Marion/Wright missed 5-7 footers.

We played decent just shot terrible and they really really made us pay for our mistakes. I'd be curious to know when the last time we missed 15 straight threes was. Guess that is what makes them so good though. That team makes you play sound basketball if you want to have a chance. We played some, but didn't string together stretches near long enough.

They sure do fly around on team defense, they are so long. It was amazing how fast they could recover after doubling/tripling Dirk, simply incredible. Thought Dirk was gonna go for for a triple double there for a bit after that first quarter and a half.

Bottom line, this heat team is damn good, but we have to shore up the sloppy passes and shoot better than that especially when we get good looks.

We have an easy schedule to finish up February, winning out would be better than great! Got to keep this 6th spot.

That was one of the most entertaining basketball games I think I have ever been to. I was a little surprised to see that Dallas out rebounded Miami 50-28 yet lost.

After tonight, I can confirm that Heat fans are the worst people in sports. Anyone close to the fight know what happened?

In the stands. Sometime in the 2nd Q in the lower bowl near mid-court about 40 rows up. Expensive seats to lose when you get tossed out for fighting with a bonehead.

We really need to beat New Orleans and Chicago to close out February because our March schedule is just absolutely brutal. I think going 7-7 in March would actually be an accomplishment.

Winning 9 out of 11 and being 12 over .500 and still basically in 7-8th place in the west. So good this year.

Hope we can do better than 7-7 in march even though it will be tough with that schedule. I really hope we can push to that 6 seed.

At least we only have a couple more B2Bs.

Phoenix most again. I think they may struggle some down the stretch. Yea, hopefully we can get to 6, but it's going to be really tough to do better than 7-7 in march. I think I'd take 7-7 now if you have me the option. The best I can see us doing is 8-6. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

Gonna be at the next couple of games. Looking forward to seeing the Mavs play against Anthony Davis and catching the Bulls Friday! Lets go Mavs!
