Another big night tonight. Can't let up against the Lakers.

Sunday could be huge. We play sac, Phoenix plays okc, and Memphis plays spurs.

Does Dallas have the tiebreaker against the Suns and Grizzlies locked up?

By my count, Mavs are 3-0 against Memphis with one game left, and 1-1 against Phoenix with one game left.

Should be a fun week, w/ Dallas, Phx, and Memphis all playing each other. Spurs will be a factor too, playing Dallas and Phx.

Spurs will hopefully be resting everyone by the time we play them.

Hopefully. Mavs in the first round would be great for rest before round 2.

Dallas' record against possible first-round matchups:

SA -- 0-3, with 1 game left
OKC -- 2-1
LAC -- 1-3

We could easily be 4-0 against the Clipps. They would be my first choice, then OKC, then SA.

Have hated the Mavs, and Dirk, for years now, but have to give respect where it's due. Guy's a legend and a HOFer.

So I think if they beat Phoenix (or Memphis) they would clinch the playoffs regardless of the other 2 games. That would give them the tie breaker over Phoenix and Memphis. And because those 2 teams play each (guaranteeing a loss for someone) they would be in.

Other scenarios involve beating a Spurs team resting everyone for the playoffs and then hoping for Memphis and Phoenix to take some losses. I just hope the Mavs are in before heading to Memphis. I have a hard time seeing them win a "game 7" type atmosphere in Memphis.

Win 2 more, and they're in no matter what.

I think if we win against either Phoenix or Memphis we are in no matter what. If we beat Memphis in the last game, there is no way they could be ahead of us (at worst we would tie them, and own the tie breaker).

If we beat Phoenix and lose the two other games, then we have 49 wins. Phoenix could win their other 3 games and get to 50 wins. But if that happens, that means Phoenix beats Memphis so Memphis could only get to 49 wins (tied with us but we own tiebreaker).

If we beat Spurs but lose the other two, then we could miss the playoffs.

So if making the playoffs is our main concern (and not seeding), I guess we should be rooting for Memphis to beat Phoenix when they play.

I was really counting on the Heat to beat Memphis last night. N.O. nearly beat Phx too.

WE need to win out. I don't want to get swept by the spurs in the playoffs. I'm not sure which one I would prefer: miss playoffs or get swept by spurs.

Between the 2? I'll take making the playoffs over not.
