I can't believe there are people in 2014 who can have any reaction to this other than disgust. The only way he can redeem this situation is if it turns out it isn't him on the tape, but I think we all know given his history and beliefs that it's very unlikely.

People have a right to free speech, but at some point you have to stop being a ****ing idiot. He is an owner of a franchise that has an 80% African American workforce. If this were any other work place and the boss made racist comments to his employees he'd be fired immediately. The only thing keeping the team from walking out on him completely is the fact that they'd have to sacrifice a shot at the championship, and throw away all the hard work they've put in this season.

Seems like it is illegal in California if not all parties consent. We don't know the circumstances about whether Sterling "knew" she was recording and proceeded anyway.

This is why I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't punished. While the NBA doesn't have the same code as the legal system, where it would be thrown out, there's sure to be a ****storm if he is levied a fine because of illegally obtained evidence.

And while what he said is disturbing, it's nothing new for him. And to all the players or coaches saying they wouldn't want to work for him now, he has a documented legal history of racism before this incident, nothing's changed. He was just as racist before, it's just what's in the news.

Also, the NAACP is laughable for wanting to give him ANOTHER award. But that's anther case of nothing new.

I don't really know what Adam Silver can really do short of a moderate fine and maybe banning him from games. Almost everything else needs to come from the rest of the owners. If Silver acts outside whatever governance the league has with the owners, Sterling is not afraid of using the courts.


Somehow, the Lakers seem like they will be the biggest beneficiaries of this all. Someway.

It also seems like Ervin Johnson begging the league to make Sterling to sell the team so he can buy it is a conflict of interest situation. If a black owner was on tape saying the white man is bad, the liberal media wouldn't care and neither would Ervin.
