A lot of people are hard liners until racism gets involved. "Well now wait that wasn't that racist!"

No one is saying he should be Imprisoned. But being outed saying racist things when you have a track record of accused racism and unethical behavior has consequences. When you are a large business owner those consequences could be large as well. His colleagues are sharks too and his blood is in the water.

The thoughts and words are Sterling's and only Sterling's. No one held a gun to his head and made him say them. For a look into his character, read the link I posted above. It has a lot of factual info in there, of which the authors could be sued many times over if it weren't true. It just can't ever be the old bigot's fault can it?

Wow, i just listened to the tape and have to agree this is being blown out of proportion.

If anything, he's admiting he has racist friends and is tired of them calling about the instagram pics. He said repeatedly throughout the 9 min tape that he has nothing against minorities everytime she brought up race in an obvious attempt to bait him.

Its everywhere. He said it pretty clearly. he didint like her to associate with blacks and Latinos. Didn't want Magic Johnson at games. He calls her an enemy, because she's both Latin and black.

His 'enemy' reference made it sound like he was telling her "talking to you is like talking to someone who is an enemy" (ie Ex-wife, etc.)

I didn't get from that excerpt of the conversation that he thinks blacks and mexicans are enemies. So many drama queens out there these days looking to put context into people's words.

Just like with many stories in the media, the severity of this one is "somewhere in the middle."

You always have to be careful with recordings like this.

First, it's not the first time these guys have talked about this. So there are references you might not get.

Second, when one side knows something's bring recorded, they can set the other side up.

Sterling is a rotten guy. He's not likable. And I've got no interest in defending him as a person. It's just here I think what's really happening is that he's jealous and insecure about her hanging out with so many guys.

I listened to about 6 minutes of the tape. It sounds like a dumbass 20 year old ho talking to an old ass 80 something year old white man.

Both were raised in a world that is 180 degrees different, and it is obvious in their conversation. It is also obvious from the way she drives the conversation that she's trying to get him to say certain things. Amazingly, most the time he wasn't falling into her trap.

Agree with the last couple of posts. We don't have the full context and it's absolutely clear she was steering him in a direction. I also think his motivation was driven by catching hell from his buddies vs. necessarily his own racial bias, but based on his history, I'm sure he has plenty of racial bias of his own. I also think there was jealousy there, or at least an attempt to save face from a "boyfriend" perspective vs. a racial perspective. She's likely giving up the goods to other dudes and he likely knows it and is okay with it, but just doesn't want it publicized because in the words of Dave Chappelle, "That **** is embarrasin'".

In my opinion it's a much bigger issue because it's the NBA and he employees and his product caters to African Americans. Because that race has so much to do with his success (of the Clippers, not his prior money) it's a big deal.

If this happens to a hockey owner it's probably not a big deal.

The NAACP is shaking him down to give more money to UCLA for black scholarships.

Maybe. But I think its a case of him catching hell from his rich friends about first how ridiculous he looks as an 80 year old man with a 31 year old girl, and second them probably giving him **** about her probably hanging with and probably banging younger black men while she's living high and mighty on his dime.

Lot of context missing here. But suffice it to say that Sterling has a history of discriminatory practices and most probably is bigoted if not just a flat out racist. Nevertheless, short of it being shown this wasn't him on the tape, the damage is done.

If anyone claims she was not baiting him, they have not heard the tape. It sounds like she is freaking reading from a script(both in the type of questions she asks and the tone in which she asks them). Well, why don't you like minorities? I have nothing against them. But I don't understand, why don't you like blacks? But why specifically don't you like Mexicans? It was absolutely ridiculous. And I heard that she has something like 30 or 300 hours of conversations saved somewhere (I can't remember the exact amount of time). She is definitely a piece of scum.

I'm sure he's scum too and maybe he is racist (where there is smoke there is usually at least a small fire). But she was definitely baiting him.

And his enemy comment was referring to her. "It's like talking to the enemy." Talking to her is like talking to an enemy.

She also just got sued by them for $1.8 Million, so I'm sure she's out for revenge.
