*Spends a week insulting Nico's credibility*

"Look what Nico said about him."

Of course Nico is going to say that when we sign him. Is he going to say we signed a bad ball handler?

I know you watched the games and there is no way you think Grimes is a plus dribbler. He ran the offense at times out of necessity, but let's not act like he has a super tight handle.
Does he just blindly say every player the Mavericks bring in is a good ball handler?
It's boilerplate for any guard. He also didn't say "good," I believe the word was "versatile." That is definitely not the same as "good."
Ah, I will consult you next time I need a Nico Harrison translator.
It's not decoding Nico, it's decoding any general corporate-speak.

*But with "versatile" also in there.

This team has a 2 playoff window. This one and next. I don't see any way these oldtimers are viable in May-June 2027. Better hope AD can rally from whatever this is, or scratch 1 of the 2 off.

I am glad we can still joke around here despite our differing perspectives on the state of the Mavs.

That is definitely how it is. By Luka's 2nd year, the thinking here was "boy, I hope they do a good enough job of building around him so he doesn't want to leave". Which they were doing a good job there, built a championship caliber roster, and he was never showing any indications of wanting to leave, so you start to feeling really good and confident in something you wondered about for years. …. only to blow it up voluntarily. Total blindside. Total shock. SMH

ha, I used to talk to that guy all the time. He's so big time now. Also, his reel is spot on. I keep forgetting and reliving the nightmare.

Also, doesn't help that I have 5-6 articles of Luka mavs clothing that keep staring me in the face every time I walk into the closet.

Your G League comment sent me down a rabbit hole looking at Ags who are in the G League/playing elsewhere professionally because I wondered if anyone happened to be on Miami's G League roster. I was surprised that there seem to be only two Ags in the G League:

Dexter Dennis is with the Kings G League team.
Quenton Jackson is with the Pacers G League team.

Tyler Davis plays in Korea, DJ Hogg in Japan, Jalen Jones in Greece, Josh Nebo in Italy, Boots Radford in Turkey, among a number of others all over the pace. I wonder what life is like as an American basketball player in some of those places, seems like that could be a cool journey.

Q how has a 2 way. He's been killing it when called up, at least he had been. I lost touch a bit there. One of my fave ags ever.

I don't recall exactly how two-ways work. I recall he got called up the last two seasons, but it looks like he has not this year. I would love to see him develop into an NBA guy.

It is a contract where they can spend up to 45 days with the NBA team and the rest with the GLeague affiliate. They make more the more time they spend in the NBA. Can be a 1y or 2y deal. Caruso started as a two way with OKC and then LAL. Each team can have 3 two-ways in addition to their 14 or 15 man roster and other teams can't sign the players out from under them when they are two ways.

Can you just do one one/two year deal? Or can you re-up multiple times?

I think there is an age or experience limit, but I dont remember for sure. Like I don't think you could sign DeAndre Jordan to a two-way. You can resign two-ways, but I haven't seen many that stay with a team for more than 2 years. Teams like to use them for 2nd rounders and other project players.

I'd take Q on the Mavs right now with a full contract. We saw all we needed to at TAMU.
