Memphis ran 2-3 consecutive plays to iso Jake Laravia on Keldon Johnson in the first half. Jake Laravia.

Spurs need to throw a bag at that Grizzlies assistant coach who designed this offense.

And again, no reason our best perimeter defender (with Sochan out) should only be playing 25 minutes. Castle played less than 10 mins in that second half.
Mitch said Minix has already had shoulder surgery: “It stinks anytime someone's got that long road ahead, but Riley's got a great temperament and personality and looking forward to him attacking the process. He was having a really good season…disappointed that that happened.”

🚨 While in France with the Spurs, RC Buford confirmed that Pop is expected to return to coaching the team:

"He’s been improving weekly (since his stroke). We don’t know when he will be back, but he will be at some point."
Of course we do. He's one of the greatest basketball minds of all time. All I do is Nguyen said:
Do we even want Pop back at this point? If anything I could see Buford and organization letting him finish out the season on his terms then retiring

He's not a top 15 coach in the league right now. Hadn't been for years.
The core of his defensive system still focuses on protecting the paint at the expense of open threes while every team in the nba has designed their offense to get their shooters open threes.
Then there's our offense that seems to love the black hole of Vassell and Sochan (when healthy). While holding onto a bunch of athletes who can't shoot in todays nba.
Our philosophy at both ends of the court is dumb and outdated. And let's not get into the waste of draft picks that Pop and Wright have treated us too.
This team needs a new vision and new leadership or we are going to be watching Wemby walk in a few years.
They haven't been playing well lately and I attribute that to Coach Pop being away so long. Every team covers you inside out. Nobody is giving up layups in order to stick to 3pt shooters. Our issues have been staying in front of ball handlers and then making smarter decisions when you need to help.FTAG 2000 said:
If I'm so wrong, prove it.
Did you watch the Memphis games? We continued to defend the paint when they were raining threes. Every team does this to us. It's idiotic.
As far as talent goes, you think we have great talent? If our talent is great, then our coaching must suck because of where we are in the rankings. So which is it?
Some of you sound like Cowboys fans thinking our talent is great, coaching is great, and next year will be the year.
