Braves fall in 10 to Mets. The normally reliable bullpen had a rough night. Plus 3 GIDP hurts too.
Hudson and Braves beat Mets today. HR for Freeman.
Braves beat the Reds, Braves relief pitching is starting to wear down a little, IMO. Kimbrell looked rough in getting a save, even with a 3-run lead.
Took the series.
Follow-up to my last post, Kimbrel just looks awful right now. We can't count on always winning by 5 or 6 runs. We need Craig to figure out what the problem is and get back in the saddle.
Not bagging on the guy by any means, I'm a big fan. But we need a closer who can get out there and shut the other team's big hitters down in the ninth.

But still very happy we took the series, and I love how Uggla seems to be improving and Juan is seeing the ball right now. For that matter, Schaeffer (sp?) looks great too. Fredi really has a lot of guys he can go to right now.
And El Oso Blanco can seriously do it all. What a beast.

Rough finish to the series with the Giants. Big opening win, blown away the next three. The longer they're on the road, the harder it seems to be for the Braves to put the bat on the ball. Facing Cain and a rejuvenated Lincecum probably doesn't help, either.

I kind of figured he would. I don't think I've ever heard of someone "consulting" with Dr. Andrews and not getting major surgery done. Two good pitchers in the last couple of years with major elbow problems...

Beat up on the Twins.
Gattis is pretty dang good. HR to tie the game in the bottom of the 9th yesterday and a grand slam so far today. 27 RBI's on the year. B Upton and Heyward have a combined 14 RBI's.

On a 3-0 count with two outs, no less. Guy's fearless. Did anyone see the interview after the game? Talked about how the last time he was in New York, he ran out of money and has to eat food off of people's plates and bum rides to get by. Gattis's story is simply amazing.

LHP Alex Wood up to replace him. Still a tough decision to DFA a guy who overall has played well for you. Just too many position players.

Yeah, someone had to go, even someone who had been pretty solid for us overall this year, especially for a platoon 3rd baseman. Guess we'll see more of Pena, which I'm fine with. Great win tonight against the Jays, great debut for Wood.

From what I have read, Laird has become Teheran's personal catcher. Since he began throwing to Laird, he has been much, much better.
Plus I don't mind the leadership he brings to the table. This team is young, they need a vet or 2
Beachy also pitched in the minors yesterday as part of his rehab. It'll be interesting to see what we do when he comes back. Our SP has been very good. Statistically Hudson as been the weakest link, but we aren't going to move him.
Took the series from the Nats.
Francisco traded to Brewers for minor leaguer LHP Keeling.
