Not taking either side on the strike zone but wanted to drop this one in here
How in the world does he make a WS crew?

I actually thought it was an exceptionally called game. He was giving a bit off the plate but he was incredibly consistent. The corners were strikes all night for both teams and I was impressed to see it called so consistently.
What a game though. We're at Game 5 and have watched two instant classics. Best WS in years.
it was a horrible strike zone, but it was a consistently horrible strike zone. I've never seen one that gave nothing on one end of the plate; gave half a foot on the other end of the plate; and was low in just one section of the plate. However, he kept that strike zone for both sides, it was really odd.diehard03 said:Quote:

Dude, you're just game drunk because your team won.
Batters from both sides complained. Your own manager was caught on TV saying "I don't know what a strike is" to the bench.
The horrible strikezone was "bailed out" by the pitching staffs ****ting the bed.

that doesn't seem terrible; a lot has to do with the Catcher or the pitcher missing a target big time. McCann had a few instances where he dropped a pitch that would have been definitely called a strike had he held on.diehard03 said:Quote:

on what planet is that strike zone consistent?
edit: I don't care where they put the strike zone at. Literally look at balls and strikes in relation to each other.

This dude's zone was consistently off on corner pitches for both teams. The bigger issue is an exhausted bullpen (Dodgers) versus a bad bullpen (Astros) with juiced baseballs.
I think the strike zone box Fox puts up is misleading and is causing the umps to look worse. Not that they have been great, but I have see several times where the ball initially shows in the strike zone on the Fox strike zone box, but when they replay it they move the ball to be outside (or vice versa).MaroonStain said:
