I think Baez was trying to keep from running over Arenado but it could still be called runners interference. No harm, no foul in the long run.

Not necessarily going to get into this debate but Arenado has been around a little longer and has a better reputation than Bregman, especially at that point in their careers. Don't let your Astros homerism cloud the judgement of likely the better decision to choose Arenado two years ago. I'd go out on a limb and say Arenado should still be picked over Bregman. Just my point of view.

I'm not going to argue with you anymore because you're a 'Stros fan that thinks Alex Bregman is God's gift to baseball. But, you can compare defensive stats at 3B or career OPS or any other number of stats. Arenado compares better in some, Bregman in others. When Team USA was picked after the 2016 season, Arenado was the clear cut favorite at 3B.

Ultimately, they are both great players. No need to try and make tonight's game about the Astros. Rockies won, if you're team continues to perform well, you can get yourself another replica WS ring next year.

Disclaimer: I'm a diehard Rangers' fan with no skin in the playoff game this year. Good game tonight, I thought it would never end. I think I'm pulling for the Brewers but might pull for the Rockies after tonight, although I don't think they have much of a chance.

I believe umpires can get out of having to make that kind of interference call by simply stating that in their opinion there was no chance to get the other runners.

I haven't seen any angles that would show if that was true or not though.

Um Bregs had only about 50 games in the majors at the time of the World Baseball Classic. He also got off to an extremely slow start in 2017, so much so he go into a twitter fight with a fan and had some speculating on last year's season thread on whether the 'Stros could get an established bat for Bregman and have Marwin Gonzalez take over third base. Bregs certainly had a strong end to 2017, finishing the season with solid numbers but really did not begin to shine consistently until the postseason.

Baseball is better with Rocktober.
